5-of-26 from deep and 6-21 at the free throw. That DEFINITELY has to improve for this team to be good. They can't afford that every game.

It sounds like both teams need to improve their shooting. Whoever comes out and gets in any kind of offensive rhythm can win this game. Burg got off to a really slow start last year, but I think they could pull the upset in their season opener this year.

Just like he has past 4 or 5 times they have played? I'm not trying to bash but a coach doesn't play the game. Yes he has an effect making subs and trying to get the right tempo and mix and Barrick is a great coach as his players are usually fundamentally sound but he hasn't beaten coach Collins yet that I recall. I think this will be a dogfight. Usually is with exception of last year at Burg. Best of luck to both schools and an injury free game.

from what I read he did indeedd have a impact the samer impact he has had in the previous 6 games against coach Collins burg has EVERYONE back Portsmouth lost everyone and barrick STILL can not beat coach Collins!

Lighten up! In no way was I downing Coach collins? I meant Barrick would slow it down to make the game closer that it should be. It looks like
barrick did that but Burg came up short.

Burg is disadvantaged in size for sure, but the real problem is that the starting guards COMBINED for 2 pts. The other 3 were all in double digits, despite being undersized compared to Portsmouth. A small, perimiter based team will not be successful without some contribution from the guards. From talking to a couple Portsmouth fans at halftime, they said that Portsmouth was playing much better than they did at SW, but maybe a PHS fan who saw both games can give a better comparison. From what I heard, they played much better defense last night and had much better shot selection.

The basketball team could be 20-0 heading into the playoffs and people in Wheelersburg would still have something to look forward to in baseball season considering they are preparing to defend their State Title...

Burgs a baseball school now. Burgs baseball program is where the football and basketball programs were for 40 years but not anymore.
