56-46 Final

Wellston did a nice job scoring 26 in the 4th....Jackson only scored 8 without 2nd leading scorer and top rebounder Nick Bachtel out due to a sprained ankle late in the 3rd.

Wellston dominated the boards all game. The first half was ugly for Welkston as they missed numerous from within 4 feet but seemed to be about 0-12 from beyond the arc. Wellston moved the ball well in the second half.

As for Jackson, a lot of people are predicting 0-22. As long as they keep battling and playing that hard....I'll be more than happy to watch. Hats off to Tyler Neal tonight....his hustle, energy and effort was worth the price of admission (and parking)

Scoring...

Brown 15 (8 in the 4th)
#35....kid I don't remember from last year 14 (12 in the 4th)
Ousley 11

Neal led Jackson with 15....Walker, Crabtree and Bachtel filled in the majority of the rest.

Proud of how Jackson has improved.

Jackson freshman and JV won.

I believe the JV had between 20-25 game losing streak before tonight's win.

Coach Kight and Fulks demeanor probably fits well with these kids, he is a steady and positive influence. Not a yeller-screamer, this team doesn't need a yeller-screamer but needs to keep working hard and playing hard and something good will happen. Bob was my 7th grade coach at the turn of the century lol and he will keep coaching, and keep instructing and keep on keeping on...kids seem like they are buying into it.

They are going to get one and when it happens it will be worth it, we were up 9-10 tonight and had a chance. Sometimes you find the best things with teams that are like this and the record not so good...you find some HEART and that goes down through your program to the younger kids that may be able to see the heart their Varsity is playing with and use that and their talent to be better in the years ahead.

There are some talented 7th, 8th, Frosh and JV's watching this varsity group work hard and I am telling you they are gonna win some, and set the tone for the younger kids that have a good record in the years ahead.

Nothing wrong with not having success if you work, and I will keep paying my $2 for parking and watching them as long as they keep on grinding it out.

So, 0-22 would be okay with you as long as they're grinding it out? Where's the logic in that?

Wellston looked terrible for 3 quaters and finally came alive in the 4th. That game should have never been close! Wellston should never loose the rebounding portion of the game. I think Jackson out rebounded Wellston in the first half. Hopefully that will get worked out!!! Jackson needs one more guard like the Neal kid. McCorkle would have helped them alot!

It's real simple logic. You can be 0 for whatever and not give a }#%^ or you can practice hard play hard grind through a down year and represent yourself and your school with some class. Set as good as an example as you can for the younger players by hustling and playing to the best of your ability.

My point, which obviously was an air ball to you was, when you are faced with a struggling season play with some heart and some class. It is not like this season was a big surprise, the kids knew it be tough but still came out for the most part. Every one knew we would not be playing for a league title or even have a winning record, so the logic is when you are faced with that situation at least represent yourself and your school to the best of your ability.

That's the logic....hope I spelled it out for you, or do you need a picture book?
