The Chef with the biased opinion of course goes with the Redstreaks because the game is being played at The Oven where Unioto has struggled mightily over the years and the Streaks are primed for a good game coming off the scare against the Panthers. Coach L will have the troops ready for this very important game in the SVC. Too bad it's on a week night.

If the SVC wants to increase crowds/$ instead of doing the Fri & Sat SVC games, take a look at the overall schedule and put these types of matchups on a weekend instead of during the week.

I don't even want to get started on the scheduling, that could get me way too fired up.

Seen both teams a couple of times and both do things well that the other struggles with. Unioto has traditionally struggled in the new gym. I think it will be a high scoring game and I'll take my Shermans by a late basket. Should be a great atmosphere, even for a weekday game.

Im gonna take Unioto in this one..but only if two things happen

1. Detillion scores at least 15
2. Strange is able to penetrate and finish

I havent seen Piketon yet, but Unioto has been either really good or really bad together

I think they need big games from the two players above, and a strong rebound effort by Hosley. If Arledge can start hitting from outside at a better percentage, the Tanks will roll.

If this game was at Unioto I would take the Shermans by 2, but gonna be tough to beat the Redstreaks at home. Piketon in a close one 68-64

The Chef believes The Oven will be special this evening. The Oven has become quite the experience for attending a basketball game. Good food, basketball, music, light show, friendship, people watching. Come on out y'all...
Let's Go Streaks!

Piketon was without the services of Zach Farmer, but Wyatt Brewster was huge for the Streaks in keeping them within striking distance.

The young'ens for Unioto were huge tonight. Freshman Erique Hosley was a man inside all night, while sophomores Nick Corcoran and Kyle Strange were very solid, but I thought Unioto's player of the game was Nick Overly off the bench. The sophomore knocked down 3 treys and had a few assists as well.

Soph Aaron Southworth also knocked down 3 big shots for the Redstreaks.

Of course, you want to see everyone at full strength for games like this, but it's still a huge SVC road win for Unioto. I don't want to forget the play of seniors Dylan Minney and Zach Downs off the bench either. Downs made two huge stops late and Minney was solid while Detillion was out with foul trouble.

Unioto scoring:
Corcoran 16
Hosley 14
Strange 10
Overly/Detillion 9
Minney 4
Downs 3
Arledge 1

And the JV squad is loaded as well. The future is bright in Frenchtown.

But Mike and Tom have done a great job for years and really care for the kids as well, which I think makes them more enjoyable to listen to as well!

It was a very fun game to watch. I was very impressed with Corcoran, Overly, and Hosley tonight. Although it was a total team effort as all of the Shermans who were on the court contributed in some way or another.
Both teams played hard tonight!
I think if Unioto would get someone to work with Hosley, he could be really dominate down low for the next couple of years. It would be nice to have someone working with Detillion as well, because he is big and athletic enough to dominate down low.
I'm really excited to see how the game turns out in Frenchtown next time, hopefully Z. Farmer will be back on the court. Why wasn't he playing tonight???
I also think that if Piketon would have continued to put pressure on Unioto and press like they did in the first part of the game it could have been different, I thought Unioto's guards were having some trouble with it.

Also, I agree with you Dani, Mike and Tom do a great job covering the games. I will however say the Scoreboard show is pretty tough to listen to at times! :aaaaa38

The Scoreboard Show was pretty good when Matt Bruning and Greg Bigam were doing it. I'm sure Justin and Lou do their best.

WKKJ has good game broadcasts.
