Warren vs Newark Catholic 1/21
Warren vs Newark Catholic 1/21
Big game for Warrior basketball. I think, if healthy, we can hang with them. This will be a physical game and if we shoot like we did against Marietta we can come out with a victory. If we turn the ball over like we did against gallia last night it might be a long game. Thoughts?

After losing 2 of 3 games this week NC will be a tuff nut to crack. The big kid is gonna be a load but I'm sure the staff has a plan to bring back the "W" to St Rt 339.

Warren takes on one of the premier D4 programs in Ohio. The Green Wave have tons of talent. Jett Speelman, a 6-7 swingman leads the team in scoring an rebounds. They are tall , quick , physical and well-coached.Warren will need to minimize their turnovers and battle on the boards to be successful. I believe if the Warriors come out aggressive on defense and control tempo, then they will compete. Give coach Maddox props for playing teams like Newark Catolic and Upper Arlington, should pay off big in post season. Hopfully the Warren faithfull will be on hand to support the Warriors. GO BLUE!!!

Re: Warren vs Newark Catholic 1/21
... Best of luck to Coach Maddox, Coach Duckworth & the BB Blue from Warren ... one of those barometer games Monday answering the question "Where do we stand?"... a few weeks ago it was taking on OCC rep Upper Arlington, next up annual powerhouse Newark Catholic - NC is more athletic than UA, 6-7 size in the middle - going to be a lot of teachable moments in this one ALL will make WHS better as the "survive and advance" season approaches ...

Re: Warren vs Newark Catholic 1/21
Win or lose later today I want to say how proud I am of the 2013 edition of the Warren Warriors. The team has improved every game and despite losing to Cols Upper Arlington the team responded with 6 consecutive wins averaging over 75 points a game giving up fewer than 50, defensively approaching the usual Warrior standards. Finding a way to win in the tuff enviorment of McAfee in Athens despite shooting a dismal 1-17 beyond the arc was a huge stepping stone in this group growing as a unit. This team is ready to put its own stamp on "Warrior Basketball" and with Coaches Maddox and Duckworth game planning, I'm sure whatever the outcome they will make the Warrior Nation proud to call them our own.

ABSOLUTLY FANTASTIC!!!! The Warriors fought just like Warriors and refused to be denied. At the end of the 3rd quarter Evan French hit a 3 that a ref on the other side of the floor waved off. It looked as though we were gonna come up that one basket short of a win, but tenacious D willed them back into the game. Down 51-46 With under 1:30 left the boys would not be denied.
