Kighty's boys will need to play a near perfect game and catch a few breaks to steal this one from Athens.

Athens defeated Meigs 68-62 in a very entertaining game. Both teams shot well from the field, with Athens hitting 51% of its shots. The Bulldogs were also 17-18 from the line, hitting 12-13 in the 4th quarter as Meigs fought their way back from 16 points down. Joe Burrow had 26, Ibi Watson 20, Jerod Elmore 6, Zacciah Saltzman 5, Ryan Luehrman 4, Adam Luehrman 4, and Sawyer Summers 3. Kaileb Sheets had 20 for Meigs, 18 of them in the 4th quarter. Cody Stewart had 19, Dillon Boyer 8, Ty Phelps 6, Treay McKinney and Dustin Ulbrich had 4, and Jared Williamson 1 point. Meigs was 8-12 from the line. Meigs is now 8-7 and 4-4 in the league. Athens is 14-2 and 5-1 in league play.

The way the DIII Athens sectional is - I would not be surprised to see Meigs upset somebody and end up at the Convo ... heck, it may not even be considered an upset with the way some of those teams are playing lately.

It would be awsome to see a turn around like that from last season to a convo trip would be great.
