Alexander always seems to give VC fits. The last game went into overtime and the final game last season (at vc) came down to a last second scoup and score by Alex Owings to give VC the lead and the win. Should be another good one tonight. Drive safe Spartan fans! Also, it is hall of fame night in McArthur. There will be a ceremony in-between the Jv and varsity contests.

VC freshman win by one on a and one with 5 seconds left. Very chippy game as the refs let a lot of physical plays go by without calling fouls.

Jv game has started just where the freshman ended. Several of the starters on the Alexander freshman team are also starters on the JV. Lots of physical play ad hacks on both sides not being called. Alexander's JV coach received 2 technicals and was ejected from the game. A lot of emotion in the air tonight. Game tied 18-18 at the half.

VC started out with 5 fouls in the first 3 and a half minutes and were down 8-2. Came back to tie after one 8-8.

Vikings take it 62-49. I finally made it up to the Den of the Vikings to see a basketball game. The play of the game was when the fat guy :aaaaa94 on the Vikings bench saved #12 of Vinton County from serious injury. One thing for sure he wears a real man's tie, not a clip-on!
The big dude kinda looks like a real life Peter Griffin. I was told by some Viking faithfull that he is really a "Gentle Giant" as his nickname "PUP indicates. Nice save Pup! :aaaaa103
That is really one fine facility, with the middle school just across the yard nice set-up. That is one school that a community can be proud of. :122245

Is the big guy ok? I was told that he hit his head very hard on the bleacher. Hope he is ok that was a very unselfish act of heroism he performed.
Actually I saw him at gallia VC game coming out of the locker room, good thing Coach Combs did not stop or someone would have to call 911 to remove his head from the coaches rectum; OUCHY PEW!
I was the 6'5'' bearded guy in the dark blue hospital scrubs, no time to change before the game. NO! I am not a doctor or a nurse, but I do work for a firm that helps medical clinics and hospitals with financing information. I just like to wear scrubs for comfort.

Seems pretty ironic that you would be so concerned about someone who volunteers a great deal of time to VC's program today, when just yesterday you were putting him down and then make inferences that he kisses up to Coach Combs. Its pretty easy to take cowardly shots at someone while hiding behind an anonymous user name. BTW, I can't speak for everyone else, but I could really care less what you do, where you're from, or whether you wear scrubs for professional or recreational purposes; or perhaps, because you just got released from being institutionalized.

So far as the game, I thought VC kinda played into Alexander's game plan in the first half and then made some good halftime adjustments to pull away. At any rate, a league is a league win. And Coach Gabriel and the young Spartans should be commended for playing hard all the time. I always enjoy visiting with friends from that district.

The officiating in the freshmen and JV games was embarrassing. Not that these two are bad people, but I don't think I've ever seen two officials work a game that were as "out of their league" as these two. It was sad for all the kids, coaches, and fans that had to endure their ignorance.

I really don't care what you think or do either! I made mention after the tumble during the Alexander game of my obsevations of the fat guy suckin up to the VC coaches at the Gallia game, and I was informed by some Vinton County folks that Combs cant take a crap without the fat guy being there to wipe his behind (one of the fella's that informed me of this said he taught at the school), maybe you are jealous of the fat guy.
What insitution were you at Mr. Webb, maybe we might know each other? Well for one thing I am proud of what I do, and don't mind mentionimng it. It's your opinion you post on here, and you are like an opinion everybody has one, just ask the fat guy! Despite all things I do not like seeeing someone injured, even a spectator.
I did not see the first two games. They were in the middle of some kind of local ritual when I arrived. If I make it to another VC game I will wear my scrubs; find me and we will carry on this conversation if you are man enough. If you are a girl I will overlook your stupidity.
