CONVO 2013

I have been getting a lot of e-mails regarding the times/dates for the district tournament at the Convocation Center. I had already updated the web site to include the entire first weeks schedule for both boys and girls basketball. You must click on the CONVO 2013 link at the top of the page on the 'site map'. The schedule doesn't have teams yet because they have yet to play their sectional games - but it does include what the time/dates are according to what seed you recieved at the tournament draw. (i.e. The No. 3 seed from the Athens sectional will take on the #2 seed from Jackson at 1:45 on March 2nd.). And keep in mind, if you're the lower seed and defeat the higher seed in a sectional - you become the high seed. I believe that is where some of the confusion was in the the e-mails I was getting. If (6) Meigs was to beat (3) Federal Hocking at Athens High School - then Meigs becomes the No. 3 on the tournamet schedule for the Convo.

YES, THAT DAY/TIME WILL BE CHANGED ... THE SITE MANAGER SAID HE WOULD LET ME KNOW AS SOON AS THE CHANGES ARE MADE OFFICIAL.

* I have no idea what they have in mind - but just moving all the games to Sunday makes sense to me ... as soon as I hear something - I will update the web site and let everyone know.

It should be noted that on the 27th, there's a great precursor for high school hoops at the Convo when SE Ohio's own jake Kretzer, Blake Justice, and the Akron Zips will invade OU for what will amount to a MAC East championship game. Should be a great college basketball game.

EasternDspy, Eastern Pike might loose but I think Fairfield is better equipped to beat them than White Oak. I know what the records are and that White Oaks record is better but Fairfield has the size to cause matchup problems for the Eagles.

I hope Akron can give them a better game this time around. They have struggled at the convo the last few seasons.

I hope they don't change the games on the 9th to Sunday cause I am scheduled to work a double that day!!!!!! All I can say is if they do and we make it that far (which we should) I am not missing my kid's game...Period!!!

The DII games are Thursday March 7th - same times.

Like I said, when the site manager lets me know for sure - I will post the information - I talk to him frequently.
