Just curious, but who in the SVC do you feel will have a big run in the tournament?

Now I don't know if it will happen but Welston has a roster if they get there heads on the same track can make some noise they have depth and great size just never seem to get it together. But if they do they could win a few.

Piketon has an excellent chance to make a run if they keep playing well. But, games with Valley and then Chesapeake/Minford will be very tough, but I feel like they have more talent then anyone but Ironton in the region.
Zane Trace should be able to reach the district finals, but Ironton would stand in their way.
I feel like Southeastern and Unioto will also reach the Convo, but will run into Easterm Brown and Warren respectively and have to play very well to get a W there.

The SVC has only won three District titles in Boys Basketball in the last 15 years. Southeastern in 2002 and 2003. Piketon in 2009.

Westfall 59
Adena 48
Westfall will meet Piketon in the sectional finals on Saturday. Adena finishes it's season at 4-19, which equals their win total of the previous 3 years combined and they are moving in the right direction.
Zane Trace will also meet with Belpre for the 3rd straight season.

Congrats to all 15. Proud of Alek Stonerock. Plays as hard as anyone night in and night out. Has been a joy to coach/watch for 4 years. Arguably the toughest player to guard in the league.

I think they got the all conference team right. Congratulations to Craigen, he was definitely the best in the league.
Although I think it is nice that there are so many kids being rewarded for being on the all conference team, it seems to me like they honor too many. The whole starting lineups for Piketon, Unioto, and ZT can be found in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, honorable mention list. Maybe do away with 3rd team? Or do most conferences have this many players recieve honors at the end of the season?

Whats the problem with rewarding kids? They put in months of hard work to get on these lists. We have what 35-40 players who are just starters in the league, and you want to narrow down awards to 10? in 20 some different games? I watch a LOT of SVC Basketball and I can personally testify that each player on this list made a BIG difference in BIG games throughout the season. Eric Hutton isnt one of those kids that shows up at the top of your scouting report, but a sophomore guard who averages about 7-8 pts, 7.5 assists, and 4.5 rebounds a game made a HUGE difference in ZT's success this year.

This is one thing the SVC does very well, IMO. Not sure why having the starters from the top 3 teams all get a mention is a bad thing, 3rd place Unioto finished 4 games ahead of the 4th place team. Those 3 teams were head and shoulders above everyone else, even if ZT and U each had a bad loss mixed in.
We could always do it like the SOC, 1st place gets 4 players, 2nd/3rd get 3 or something along those lines, where the coaches don't vote, they just pick who they want to represent their school.

It doesn't matter either way I guess. I just find it kind of funny that so many players are mentioned. Congratulations to ALL of the players.

Good luck to coach Carson and the Mustangs vs Piketon Saturday! The future is bright at Westfall for this young coach.

Very good possibility of advancing 4 SVC teams to the Convo, with the winner of Piketon/Westfall guaranteeing us 1 and then ZT is the favorite in their game tonight.

Congratulations to Southeastern and Unioto. Glad to see Unioto is finally back to the Convo. I was starting to lose faith in Coach Hoops.
