12th Annual BACF Basketball Classic, Friday, April 5

The 12th annual Battle Against Cystic Fibrosis OH vs. WV Basketball Classic will be held Friday, April 5, at Parkersburg South’s Rod Oldham Athletic Center . The girls game will tip-off at 5:30PM with the boys game following at approximately 7:30PM.
The Ohio boys will be coached by Vinton County ’s Matt Combs and assisted by former Alexander coach Blaine Gabriel. Fort Frye ’s Shon Smith, who finished with 1,277 career points, has been selected as the team captain. Other members of the Ohio squad include: Jacob Blake (Nelsonville-York); Cody Caldwell (River); Max Carney (Federal Hocking); Devon Francis (Cambridge); Dakota Hoffman (Belpre); Braden Jones (Alexander); Jordan Kidd (Vinton County); Cody Midkiff (Fairland); Tristan Myers (Logan); Justus Ousley (Wellston); Shawn Parsons (Federal Hocking); LB Remy (Vinton County); and Ben Standiford (Cambridge).
The West Virginia boys squad will be coached by Parkersburg South’s Mike Fallon and assisted by long-time Wirt County aide D.A. Wilson. Magnolia’s Mark Winters, who surpassed the 2,000 point scoring mark this season, has been selected as the team captain. Other members of the West Virginia squad include: Jamie Arnold (Wood County Christian); Austin Bayless (St. Marys); Tyler Bolen (Parkersburg South); Trevor Britton ( Parkersburg ); DJ Burgess (Ritchie Co); Andrew Cosper (St. Marys); Logan Cox (Parkersburg South); Andrew Davis (Ritchie Co); Doug Dennis (Parkersburg South); Darren Heintzman (Tyler Consolidated); Dylan McCarty (Point Pleasant); Casey Smith (Ripley); and Ben Umpleby (Parkesburg).
The boys slam dunk contest and 3-point shoot-outs will take place at halftime of the girls game.
