The matchup set for Saturday Night Jim's Gym Logan HS. Maddox vs Stieverson. Big Bad Blue vs The Big Red! The Warren Warriors and The Logan Elm Braves will square off with the Sectional Championship and The Gold Ticket for a trip to The Convo on the line.
Two teams that are very similar with the Warriors holding a slight edge in experiencee having 2 players who started and 3 more players that played a significant role in the 2014 DII District Championship game.
BY NO MEANS will the Warriors look past the Braves as I'm sure the loss at The Convo last season still stings the heart.
If the Warriors can take care of the basketball and make FT's they should "survive & advance".

Not uncommon that there is not a lot of chatter. Both Logan Elm and Warren are similar in that fans do not need to make outlandish predictions or beat their chest about their accomplishments . Coach Stiverson does own a commanding won/ loss advantage over Maddox . Both teams will play a stingy,in your face man to man defense which will probably mean the scoring to be in the 45-55 range. Hopefully the Warriors will win the rebounding battle and stay out of foul trouble, I believe these two stats will decide the outcome of the game. Good Luck Blue !

Good analysis on both the fans and the game!
I do think that although not true post players Hall at 6'6" and Kidder at 6'3"(strong as a bull) can present issues for smaller teams. Against Portsmouth, which is a good rebounding small team, late in both games their size and strength tipped what were razor close games into Warrior victories. Warren won't give you a steady diet of the inside game but enough to get the job done. On the defensive end Warren plays great defense but what they do as well as anybody in the District in closing out possessions with rebounds. Not a great offensive rebounding club, the Warriors usually don't give teams many extra possessions by turning it over or giving up offensive rebounds.
Will be a great game. Two Great coaches with distinguish records in the One and Done Season. Doesn't get any better than that.
GO BIG BAD BLUE!

Doors should open around 7pm for the 8pm tip. Remember Logan boys and girls are hosting two D1 Central District sectional games against Pickerington North at 1/4 p.m.
Warren should be considered the favorite. They are the top-seed and are pretty solid 7-to-8 deep from what I've been told. With four new starters this season, it's nice for Logan Elm to get a couple of games on the sectional floor against see a good team (VC) and a pretty good team (Warren). If Logan Elm can clean up the turnovers, hit their free throws and have a lot of guys hitting shots then they could hang around with Warren.

Good analysis. Both Stiverson and Maddox and their coaching staffs do an outstanding job, and that's why LE and Warren have been two of the more consistent D2 programs over the last decade-plus in the district.
Good luck to the Braves.

Nice effort by the Braves, especially with Ridge Young and Dylan Smith having good games. Congrats to the Warriors on a sectional title and best of luck going forward in the tourney.
