It was great to see that banner being raised for the team that actually played at the old Racine High School. Charles Hayman was the coach of that team. That team went too long without the proper recognition. Plus, its always good to see another banner go up in the new gym. Racine consolidated later and formed Southern High School. The new school expanded it's boundaries by adding kids from Minersville that used to attend Pomeroy High School.
Congratulations to Carl and the gang for getting it right!

WOW! I didn't realize the state semi team played that long ago. But my grandpa did say his dad played on it, so I guess that would be about right.

Are there any grandkids or great grandkids of the 80-82 teams playing on the current Southern roster?

I don't think there are any grandkids but a lot of their own children have played over the last ten years.
