Federal Hocking Basketball
Has there been any word on who the new Boys coach is only 2 weeks away from starting
Re: Federal Hocking Basketball
It is really late to hire a coach. They knew Howie was leaving they should of had a coach in place way before now. Its not fair to the players or the new coach they hire. He will have a week to get ready before the first practice Nov. 7th.

Howie knew when to leave. I bet the basketball fund has a whooping 32 bucks in it like he left at Eastern when departing. Its ashame but when the cupboard is empty its time to move on.

Any word on who they hired or if they did hire yet? I would say the Lancers will surely struggle this year. They havent had a coach for several months now. I guess the school board/athletics director really cheated the kids on this one. I hope when they do hire its a good one.

Eric Mitchell from Nelsonville York has accepted the job.
Ironically his first game will be 12/5 against the Buckeyes.

Re: Federal Hocking Basketball
I was told Joe Butcher will be taking over the team for the rest of the year.
I'm not 100% sure on that, but that's what I heard via the rumor mill.

Joe Butcher has been asked to take over the team after the firing of the head coach. The AD's hands her tied in the unfortunate situation. Good luck to the Lancers going forward.

Coach Butcher stepping in to help clean up this situation shows how much character he has and that he really cares about Federal Hocking Basketball. Thanks Coach.

Re: Federal Hocking Basketball
How were his hands tied? He could have at least investigated the situation. Oh well, he got the coach he wanted in the first place, but he had to find a way to convince him to take it. Butcher should have just taken the job when first asked to, and they could have avoided this mess.athens78 wrote:Joe Butcher has been asked to take over the team after the firing of the head coach. What is the situation? Why did they ditch the coach after one game?
