In addition to the Field House being completed and rest rooms built for the stadium this year, I hear we'll see some updates to the Downtown Arena. Some exciting stuff in the works.

He never left or said he was leaving so yes Travis Robertson is still the coach.

Next season we will have plenty of guards but not that deep on big men. Although even last year the bigs struggled with scoring.

Waverly didn't have any bigs last year and unless some kids play that didn't last year or we get a move in the Tigers won't have a true big this coming season. Rinehart was the biggest and he was a forward.
The Tigers will be deep at guard and forward and will really have to get after it on defense. Will need a couple guys to step up offensively. Knisely and Heibel leave behind a high % of Waverly's scoring. Would love to see Chapman get stronger, really need his presence in the post. Not sure if any incoming Freshman will be able to contribute, heard there were some good ones, just probably not ready for varsity action.

I look for the Tigers to not quite meet expectations.

I think the tigers will be fine. Chapman is 6'6 which is good size for the soc. I have also heard their could be a LARGE transfer in for next year. Ethan Adrian and Gunner Robinson might be able to help as well.

What a surprise .....another transfer into waverly basketball
Didnt they have a post player a couple years ago....that worked out
I watched my tigers throw about 50 lob passes a game that year.

Runner00,
And just what are the expectations?

Of THE COUNTY,
Waverly has benefited from far less "transfers" than many other schools around here. Jake Kretzer started his freshman year here and stayed all 4 years, not exactly what a lot of kids are doing these days. If you call that a transfer so be it.

The Knisley kid moved in last year as a Senior and was arguably the best player on the team. Remember, he dropped 40+ points on Norm Persin. I doubt there's more than a handful of players EVER who have done such a feat.
No matter how you word it, Kretzer was a move in.
The big Sylvester kid moved in a few years ago too, but he ended up quitting.
To say that Waverly hasn't been on the good end of transfers lately is laughable at best. In fact, I would say they either them or Minford has received more transfers than anyone else in the SOC II the last few years.

I know its early, but the holiday classic should be very interesting, not sure if we can win it again next season. The other county schools didn't lose much.Although, who knows with a good transfer anything could happen.
. BTW I stood beside Chapman not to long ago and 6'3 is more like it,unless he's grown in the last month, but he does jump very well.Which may not make a difference if Robertson keeps playing his post men like he always has.

Knisley came two years ago (he came his Junior year and only played baketball at Waverly as a Senior) and Kretzer what, 6-7 years ago when he came? I will agree, Kretzer was the best around for several years but you can't confuse that with the number of "move ins", "transfers". Sylvester moved with his mom from New York (she came to work at the A plant) and he quit so really a non factor in this discussion.
South Webster, Oak Hill, Chillicothe all faired pretty well with their transfers. Minford gets their fair share as does Wheelersburg. I remember Waverly losing some kids to other schools (Piketon & Eastern to be exact).
So name me all these transfers Waverly has benefited from other than Knisley and Kretzer.

If folks haven't noticed, Waverly's enrollment has dropped which means Waverly is losing kids.

That is true Waverly has lost a few varsity players in the past couple years such as Thornsberry to Eastern,Rowe to Minford, and last year Brewster to Western.

smurray,
You may want to do your research. Ever since Waginger moved in, people assume South Webster has benefitted from transfers more often than not. That couldn't be more wrong. South Webster doesn't have football and SEVERAL kids wait until Jr High / High School then transfer out. This has been a problem for decades, but none more than recently since they started Pee Wee Football 6-8 years ago and then stopped completely; which caused a mass exodus of kids going elsewhere. Currently, nearly every school in the SOC not named Northwest or Waverly has several Webster athletes on their rosters (either basketball or football)..... Minford and Wheelersburg has reaped the benefit of this for years. Keep in mind, Websters numbers are drastically lower than they've been in several, several decades.

bbjunky81,
Thanks, I was just saying those 3 schools benefited from transfers greatly with State Championships. Kretzer got us to the Regionals which is a far cry from that.
