Re: Logan Elm vs. Warren - D2 district championship
... bman , I think the Warriors from Warren will be playing with a chip on their shoulder - thinking that THEY the Warren Warriors should have been the #1 seed at the Logan sectional - not that it matters now BUT I think the attitude is that ALL that were involved in some way will feel the wrath of the Big Bad Blue ... what say you ?
... this one should be a dandy imo ... Warren showed a chink in the armor with Circleville being able to get into the paint & dishing to the baseline cutters (Giffin mainly) ... while the Tiger defense was able to turn the Warriors over 6 times on the perimeter in that 4th quarter - the Warren squad showed a lack of basketball maturity with some of those perimeter passes under pressure ... maybe it was just THE game and THE moment but I think Coach Stiverson and Coach Holbert will explore what they saw in the Warren vs Circleville matchup ... French was guarded by a much smaller player, which had French playing in the paint/trying to post up the smaller CHS defender - actually a very smart defensive ploy by Coach Goodyear - French inside is less deadly than French on the perimeter , 2 points vs 3 points , inside lots of help defensively outside not so much ... it worked ... will this be a strategy that LE uses vs French again? ... just some food for thought heading into the Week that IS ! ...

Give Cville credit, they had an excellent gameplan for the Warriors and almost pulled off the upset. Warren will be well prepared for the game this week in what should be a close contest going down to the end.

The Columbus district team coming down to Athens to play the winner of Warren/Logan will be decided Friday. Both district semifinal games taking place at Newark are on the 5th then the district final is Friday the 7th. I believe both Warren and Logan Elm matchup better with Watterson over Brookhaven so i'm hoping for a Watterson victory.

Looks like the winner of this game will be playing Watterson for a chance to go to the regional final, sound like Watterson is playing great D right now from their 48-28 win over Brookhaven tonight.

I remember a game from not that many years removed, where Elm beat Warren at the buzzer in the district championship........If I were Warren, I would use that as a war cry and build on that energy when playing Elm today.

First to fifty wins. Anticipate a defensive struggle between two well coached and disciplined teams. Whoever has the least turnovers and most rebounds will be district champs. Warren needs to come with intensity because Logan Elm will. The Warriors win 53-51. GO BLUE !!!
