Thought the article was hilarious . No chili dinner and back slapping is going to help these two get along . or raffles and split the pot's as mentioned in the write up. The Ad's stated last fall had either " very little " or "a small part" in this lovefest .. I do hope tonights game is well played and no injuries or craziness either way .

move it to noon and have Coach Trip make Biscuits and Gravy for the Burg team ??? could replace the Smore's that were going to be served around the camp fire .

When I first heard about this I thought it was quite funny. Did West really think the Burg kids were going to eat a big meal before a game? Especially Chili or Spaghetti?


I read the article and what this is really over, people still don't know. From what I heard the main incident at the football game that caused all of the West players to get mad was that before the game it was supposedly told that Eddie Miller had pushed down the West water boy as Burg was running on to the field. What I was told that happened was as Burg was running down the sideline on the West side, Eddie was leading them, saw the water boy was standing on the line and told him that he might want to get out of the way so that he won't get knocked down. Eddie may have brushed him, but didn't knock him down as was told. Somehow it got back to the boys Mom that he was blatantly pushed to the ground and with no remorse by Eddie. Just goes to show you how one little fib can explode in to what it did.


When Eddie found out what he had "supposedly" done he was beside himself. He felt really bad and actually asked Superintendent Knapp from Burg if he could set up a lunch with the boy through there Superintendent because that is just the kind of heart Eddie has. The two boys and Superintendents went to lunch and the air was cleared and I believe a friendship was started.


Everyone in Burg land knew the story had to be absurd when we heard it because that is not Eddie's nature. He is the most sincere and genuine person you will ever meet. Just goes to show you how one story can get so twisted and then it turned ugly throughout the game and caused a very bad scene between two local schools.

Would have been nice if the PDT could have done an article on that story but just like with anything else these days, good stories like how this one ended don't sell newspapers. Only the negative stuff does.

Hey I could take it back to the day of the game and get Burg posters mad and we could all get all worked up again. No problem hope no one is dumb enough to do that?? West won congrats. Heard it was a good one

Congrats to West! Huge improvement over their opening game performance! I'm most impressed with Bradford as a coach.

Great game! West did an excellent job.
