12/6 Warren @ Gallia Academy

Post by WarriorBlue »

The Warriors try to work out the kinks as they travel to play Gallia on Friday night. Rebounding has to get better as well as transition defense. Warren's zone trap should cause problems for the Blue Devils. I look for Warren to shoot better than the last game and come away with a nice win for the Royal Blue & White!

GO BIG BAD BLUE!

PFloyd got a nice new app that I'm gonna try to provide some "napkin stats". Not sure how that's gonna work but I'm gonna give it a try.

pfloyd, it may be late when I get home but I will give you my stats and thoughts.

I was at practice last night and the rebounding issue looked to be corrected along with a few others. Coach Maddox has his thumb on this team. For having a game tonight, this practice was very intense.

Go Warren Warriors

... thanks WarriorBlue and Excoach78 ...will be looking for those stats tonight - looks like your game MIGHT just be the only game in town on this Friday night ... WarriorBlue I tried to do stats on my iPad a couple of years ago BUT I am technology handicapped LOL I couldn't keep up with what was going on ON THE COURT and find/do the stats on the iPAD - I gave up mid 1st game !!! LOL went back to my pencil and napkins - I'm getting pretty good at reading thru and around the mustard & ketchup stains

... be careful out on those roads tonight - if this one gets played down in the French City as GAHSforever always referred to the Gallipolis "metro" area ...

French 25, Hall 18, Patton 9, Kidder 9, Drayer 8. That should be close point wise. JV score was 55-38.

... I think we'll see this scoring line all season the difference will be that the names will change as far as the WHO goes for the 25,18,9 etc. the Big 3 are all interchangeable as far as scoring goes imo - any one of them or more than one can/will go off on any given night ... was really looking forward to getting down to Meigs tonight to see Meigs hosting the Athens Bulldogs. I see the same scenario in A'town with Ibi Watson, Joe Burrow, Ryan Luehrman - with Watson being the nightly threat to go for the 20+ spot in the scoring column BUT all three can be the man on any given night ... the WarriorDome "ain't" going to be able to hold all the fans who will want to see that game in January!!!! going to have to move it Marietta College - let the Pioneers use the WarriorDome for a night

Haven't got to stats yet. Been locked up on phone for 40-plus minutes. Warriors sank 11 three-pointers. Warren played a lot of their subs in second half and they still continued to score at will. Don't know who will stop Warriors in SEOAL play this year.

The Warriors steamed rolled Gallia Academy 88-39. Mike Hall started out on fire going 4-6 from 3 point range in the 1st quarter for a total of 14 points. Early in the 2nd quarter Hall picked up foul #3 and sat for the remainder but Evan French picked up right where Hall left off. The senior scored at will for a game leading 25 points.
Warren's defense a rebounding looked much better. Don't have the stats but I'm sure offensive rebounds for Gallia were few and far between. Also Warren started Mazurkiwitz and the offensive flow was much better than it was on Tuesday vs Meigs. Aaron played great D and facilitated the offense to perfection.
The Portsmouth Trojans roll into the Warrior Dome for an early season SEAOL showdown.

GO BIG BAD BLUE!

pfloyd; put a good write up on here that did not take, it is late and I going deer hunting in a few hours so here is short stats.
Warren was 9 of 20 shooting in the 1st for 45%, 16 0f 35 for the half, 9 of 15 for 60% in the 3rd and 32 for 66 48% for the game.
Here is what really stood out: I am counting shot and other stats to take to the locker room at half time, Jottings is sitting in front of me and he turn and asked me if I am keeping rebounds. I told him I was. He asked how many I had for Gallia in the 2nd qt. When I looked at my sheet I had 0 defensive and 0 offensive. I told him ZERO. He smiled and said thats what he had. Warren had 9 offensive rebounds in the 1st half, 12 for the game. I had them with 24 defensive for the game. I think the rebounding thing is fixed. Did you read my first post about practice. Coach has got a hold on them.
The defense tonight was like what you saw at the Convo last year. Drayer and Mazurkiwitz were outstanding . Drayer IMO played a great game. He had 8 points and I know 4 offensive rebounds plus what defensive bounds and great defense on their bigs. Good night!!!!!!!!
