About a month away from real games! Belpre is lead by one of the better players in the county in Terriault

This early season matchup will favor the Cadets. Too early in the season for Belpre's youth to be much of a factor. Legrean and Lang will have their way with the Eagles in this one. Belpre will have trouble with both. Legrean will be a matchup nightmare for Belpre. Later in the season Miller and Begood will be a factor but not in this one.

Belpre won't have the guards to to handle the pressure. This yrs Cadet squad is better then last yrs.

Agreed! Belpre's guards are all small and or inexperienced. Sr Brenden Ferrell and Jr Sam Petty will prolly be the starting backcourt. Soph Tavian Miller, Fresh DeJon Begood, Jr Scott Carpenter and Fresh Logan Plummer will back up the duo though none have varsity experience. By seasons end this will be a good group. They will get better because they have talent. The Fort might not wanna sleep on the Eagles after coasting to an easy win on opening night.

Fort Frye - 62
Belpre - 47

My score might be a little off, but the margin will be around 15 in favor of Fort Frye. As others have stated, the Cadets will be better than a year ago ... Team basketball in a fundamental and disciplined style of play will be too much for Belpre's youngsters, but I do agree with Warrior Blue in that Belpre will improve game by game as those young players see varsity game action and begin to become confident in their abilities to play at the required levels to compete in varsity games.

Fort Frye has all the role players to go with Stars- Lang and Legraen.. Carter Kiefer, Tyson Nicwonger, Klinger are 3 kids that build their games around defense. Carter has the ability to take it to the rake I hope he worked on his free
Throw in Lang and Legraen and you have one heck of a defensive squad. Jordan Anderson who avg 7 a game as a JR has a ton of experience and can handle pressure. Fort Frye also has 2 great bench shooters in Layton and Brooker. Layton and Madison are good rebounders. I think it's close for 2 qts then Cadets pull away big.

Too early in the season for Belpre to score that much on a talented Fort Frye team unless Therriut goes off for 30. Until Miller & Begood get their feet wet, the Eagles will struggle to score points. The TVC Hocking is a guards league and Ferrell & Petty are both defensive players. Early on teams will smother Nick and he must show patience until the other players mature. This is Therriut's 1st year being the primary scorer and that within itself is something that needs to be learned. Lack of varsity experience will be a factor for the Eagles early on.

As with most small schools, The depth factor will be the problem Belpre has. Maybe later in the year Jordan will some turned around but early it will be the factor

Fort Frye is pretty deep they have 2 kids down playing JV that are blocked by the varsity 9.

I wouldn't put a whole lot of stock in a preview performance. Last year Trimble beat Warren. We will see Friday night when the Cadets come calling. Belpre will have to find a way to matchup Legrean. His length and ability to get to the rim will be a problem for Belpre. Lang's defense with create havoc for the Eagles offense. Last but not least the crowd WILL be a factor. Several that contributed vs NY will be hard pressed to play as well in such a huge game so early in their careers. Therriut will have to carry the load for Belpre. The talented senior has the tools to get the job done. Nice jumper and finishes well around the rim. The key will Belpre defend Fort Frye as well as Fort Frye will defend Belpre. Smart money says the Cadets roll into the Eagles Nest and take the W.

Fort Frye is one of the more talented defenses in the area I say they lock it down. Chandler played great vs Pburg Cath if he can repeat that this one is a blowout.
