I saw Waverly at the Waverly Summer Shootout, and my Trojans barely beat the Tigers. Although I think that Valley is the prohibitive favorite in SOC II, I think Waverly will win their share of games. I was most impressed with their PG.......he has a nice all around game. I believe he is a senior. The Tigers don't have a lot of size, but have several kids in the 6-2 to 6-3 range.

Are you talking about the little red headed point guard, if so he is only a sophomore.

I thought he was talking about Heibel. Aaron will more than likely play the 2 with Jake Henderson at the point.

If Waverly can limit turnovers I can see them close to .500 this season. Valley,Minford,Oakhill, and West have good squads this season . Waverly is a year away I think from being a contender for the league.

Kneisley(Chilli) will probably play the 2 guard and add some size and scoring. Heibel would be then moved to the 1 and add scoring also. Tigers loaded with seniors which is a good thing. Chapman will definitely help (very athletic). Also look for the Catman to get some time at the 5. A healthy Rhinehart could take the Tigers to a .500 or better season. What about the Kottenbrook kid from Paint Valley, anyone see him play basketball? Seems athletic on the football field. I'm ready for basketball.

Waverly played well in the summer with Jake Henderson at the 1, Heibel at the 2, Knicely at the 3, Gilbert at the 4 and Heffner at the 5 with Joe Henderson, Mason Chapman and a Catman coming off the bench. Tigers could go deep this year especially when they get Rinehart back. The Kottenbrook kid is going to be a nice player but not ready for varsity play yet IMO. Tigers are going to be fun to watch..

I never saw the Tigers much this summer. I did see some of the Waverly shootout. Peebles was up by 20 at half with Justice scoring at will. Peebles played a lot of young kids in the 2nd half and Heibel got hot and made a game of it. Eastern had the Tigers beat until Chapman had a nice put back as time expired. Eastern plays hard but this should not have been a game. I did hear they played well against Portsmouth but I didn't see that game. I think an increase in size on the floor and Rinehart getting healthy would change both games. Jake Henderson is a nice point guard and has a lot of upside but with 2 point guards and the line up mentioned, do we even have a kid over 6'0? Chapman coming along or a healthy Rinehart is the differnce maker in this team.IMO

The big question mark and major difference maker for the Tigers will be Rinehart. A totally different team with him and Chapman on the floor. With the depth this year I don't look for any freshman to be ready to step up to the varsity level.

Tigers traveled to Logan Elm to take on the Braves last night. Haven't heard how it went.
Tigers host Huntington and Lynchburg Thursday (tomorrow).
Miami Trace and Portsmouth come to Waverly next Tuesday and then the Tigers entertain Zane Trace and Athens next Thursday. The bulldogs may cancel if the football team is still in the playoffs.
Pretty good scrimmage schedule.
