Athens really starting to click on offense and defense, the press is coming along nicely. Hynes is due to break out for a big game in the paint, new PG getting better every game and starting to figure it out and other key players are getting in on the offensive side of things, I like Athens in this one by 12. 58-46 Bulldogs.

Will be interesting how Athens plays against the very slow style of Alexander. If Alex gets up big early. They are tough to come back on. They shot 52% from three the last game

Not sure about this one. Alexander beating NY the way they did is surprising bc of the hot start the Buckeyes had. Athens has been slow out the gate for the early season. I’ll take Athens by 7.

truth is names are not really necessary. The basketball players are not in the spotlight in this area as they are nice kids that will not be playing after high school. The Athens -Alexander game will be exciting. The crowd enjoys it making for a wonderful atmosphere. Alexander is improving and Athens has yet to beat a quality opponent but needs a win before facing Logan.

Athens 65, Alexander 49. Athens, starting to shape up with the new PG in breaking the press. If they just reduce the 1st quarter turnovers which seem to plague them and take better quality 3 point shots will be big. Also, getting the ball down lower to Hynes will dictate the paint play if they can establish position there. Cozart, Maxfield and Chubb should be able to get some good penetration as well and score 15 each with quality shots. Alexander's three pointers should be reduced since Athens, plays a wider 2-3 zone defense beyond the 3 point line.

Anyone know who the refs will be for this game? They were pretty abrasive to the Athens players last year! Even one of them touching and yelling at Hynes which should have been addressed and has no place on the court. I have only seen a few reliable and fair refs thus far this year. Gallia game and River Valley and Meigs was OK.

Alex should roll over a 1 win athens team that beat a winless meigs team. But athens will get better.

Athens lost key players through injury etc that the team relied on for chemistry and guidance but look for these players to come out with energy. The key in basketball seems to be sharing the shots and rebounding. No stars on Athens and they are equal 7 or 8 deep that is why they will turn this around and might win. Alexander is tough and their style might lead to a win. Get there early the Athens JV team has really good players....
