Discuss... is West any good this year?

West can shoot pretty good at home, not much size but play really hard for the new coach.

West has had a decent start but the only good win is against Minford. The best team they've seen, Portsmouth, obliterated West by a lot.

Webster should win this game at home, West has no answer for Blevins.

Not sold on West yet. I'll take SW

When West runs its offense, they are very effective - need to stay away from turnovers and the tendency to jack up 3's for the purpose of jacking up 3's. Have not seen Webster yet, but Blevins I suspect will cause them a lot of difficulty and if Murphy or another player can step up for the Jeeps, SW should have a good chance to hold serve at home.

First 2 games I believe we only shot 13 threes combined. West isn't going to jack threes up like years past

Not sure how many fouls West has but they are well above 10 in the first half. Haven't heard any stats but I believe Webster is shooting a really high FG%.

Incredible comeback but West could've won that game if they didn't commit so many pointless fouls.. Hot shooting by #11 for west he finished with 25points

Going to be a fun year for our Senators. Glad they didn't quit after the bad first half. Congrats to the Jeeps on the win

Nice win for the Jeeps. Blevins was phenomenal in the first half and then West did a great job on him in second half. Webster also got good minutes from Witter and Edwards tonight.

I was really impressed by West. They will win their fair share of games and be competing with Webster and Minford for the 4th spot in SOC II. LT Maynard is fun to watch and wanted the ball in crunch time tonight with 2 buzzer-beaters.*

Good win by The Jeeps. Playing without Holstein for second consecutive game and Ruth might have played 10 minutes tonight with foul trouble. Coriell and Smith really stepped up and played huge minutes from the guard positions.

Murphy couldn’t get the outside game going tonight but shot well from the line and still contributed with 14.

Edwards and Witter once again added solid minutes.

Blevins is unbelievable at times. 33 points and had 24 at the half.

Webster had 3 FG in second half and OT.


Portsmouth West is very solid. They will compete every night in the league and it wouldn’t surprise me if they knocked off Waverly or Burg once. They used to be an automatic W. Not any longer.

Great comeback by West tonight. Very proud of the boys and their effort. They played to the final buzzer for sure. Gotta play smarter and not commit all the senseless fouls. Webster had 39 points from the foul line according to the radio stats. Just can’t happen. West can complete with everyone they will see this year but they gotta play smart. Hafer has them going in the right direction.

Another thing I noticed bout Webster is they have a lot more depth this year. They legitimately go 8 deep this year whereas last year it felt like they were 4 deep by end of season (although those 4 were pretty darn good). Ruth in foul trouble all night and Holstein not playing yet they still get it done in overtime.*

Great comeback by West. Hafer is doing a great job and has this team headed in the right direction. The West kids will learn how to start winning these games as time passes
