Have not heard too many names thrown around. Expect this one to last a couple more weeks. Two that I’ve heard so far. Not going to name names. One works for an in county school already (not a varsity coach). The other is related to another coach who was hired recently in the county or area. Whoever it is, will have their hands full for a couple of years.

I guess that the summer schedule may suffer if a coach isn't hired before the next couple of weeks.

Eastern should hire Jairus Ward if he wants the job. He has been an assistant under Barrick for several years. I don't think folks put enough stock into what is learned under another good coach. They get to see all the practice and game prep every day and each offseason. It was even more apparent to me when I watched Lucasville Valley this year.

Does Ward even want the position?

Completely agree and some hiring schools don’t get that.

Only thing I've heard is JV coach from Jackson was interviewed.

When do they plan on hiring? Who else interviewed?

No he was not.

To the best of my knowledge, Jackson's JV coach did not apply for the position and was not interviewed. If for some strange reason I am incorrect in my assumptions, I would probably end up living in a van, down by the river.

Pete Bell maybe you will come back from the small midwest high school you've been coaching. I did hear that the two candidates they wanted already went somewhere else and someone from the west end of the Southeast district had some interest.

I agree Jairus would be a good hire right now. He has been an assistant for both Tom and PJ and im sure he has learned alot from both.

Yes it is. I haven't heard alot, he has been running open gyms some.

did the Eagles hire a coach yet?

This seems to be talking in circles. I guess that the hearsay will be either correct or incorrect when an official announcement is made.

It's official but just no official announcement I guess you can say.

Just saw on Lakiem’s (Waverly’s JV Coach) Facebook page that he is taking it. Good for him!
