Legendary coach Gene Ford passed away this morning after a battle with cancer. He was 67.

I remember watching his Cambridge teams. They beat my Trojans in the 2001 regionals. Cambridge basketball hasn't been the same since. He was a great coach that won no matter what talent he had to work with.

My sincere condolences to Gene’s family. He was a great player at Muskingum and a great coach. I played against in college where he was a great competitor. I got to know him better after college and he always had good things to say and a smile on his face at every meeting. May God Bless.
