OHSAA Final Four in Jeopardy (Coronovirus)?

Ohio State has cancelled in person classes and put other campus activities under review in an effort to limit the spread of Coronovirus.

Would this put the final four in jeopardy or alter who could attend the games?

I wouldn't really call it a media frenzy. It's more like we live in a "Soft" Society and if Organizations or Institutions do not do anything then there is always someone ready to pounce and File a lawsuit against them for Negligence! Just watch TV and count how many commercials there are for Law firms and someone needing a Lawyer!

The positive for those organizations is that there’s something new every few weeks and most people forget what they were upset about last week

People have always loved to panic over things but with us living in a social media world that panic is multiplied by 100.

Sad.

For what it's worth coronavirus has a cure rate or 99.77% for those under 50. While I do understand taking precautionary measures to slow down the spread of the virus, the overall panic treating it like the black plague is completely unjustified.

But OSU and our Republican Governor are helping feed this frenzy. OSU’s statement does not look good for the tournaments. Here they are no longer going to be in Columbus anyway after next year.

Political crap aside. I think what’s going on with OSU leads to a genuine concern whether the games will b played there or if fans may attend. (I’m not trying to downplay the disease but just talking basketball n this forum)

OHSAA Tournaments to Continue with Limited Spectators

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has ordered most spectators to be kept away from indoor sporting events

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced Tuesday afternoon that all indoor sporting events in Ohio, including high school, collegiate and professional sports, shall continue without most spectators in attendance as Ohio seeks to contain the spread of the coronavirus COVID-19.

“This will be a very difficult time for our schools and fans, but we cannot ignore the directive of the Governor,” OHSAA Executive Director Jerry Snodgrass said. “We are pleased that our tournaments can continue and we will soon determine who can attend. However, we can already say that it will most likely be no more than the immediate family of the student-athletes participating in the event.”

Boys basketball regional tournament games scheduled for Tuesday night can proceed with fans. The OHSAA will announce Wednesday morning how the tournaments will proceed moving forward.

More information will be released as soon as possible, including the process for tickets already sold and what kind of media coverage will be permitted at the state tournaments.

The OHSAA girls basketball state tournament begins Thursday at St. John Arena, the wrestling state tournament begins Friday at the Schottenstein Center and the ice hockey state tournament begins Saturday morning at Nationwide Arena.

It stinks, but I understand what they are trying to do

This is a HUGE monetary loss for the OHSAA and Columbus.
