TrojanDave:
I thought you might enjoy these videos. Logan won the Portsmouth Holiday Tournament in 1985-86. I think this is still probably Logan's all-time greatest team. Despite the loss of co-captain and leading scorer Kerry York in January, Logan won 21 straight games before falling to Lancaster in the District final.
Anyway - here are links to Logan's two-games down at Portsmouth against Dayton Patterson and PHS.

loganlocos: I remember that Logan team. I know the Chieftains beat the Trojans 71-67 in the video that you included. Kirk Hardman was the Logan coach, and I believe he later coached at Miami Trace. In the Portsmouth game, Logan's FG% shooting pct. was phenomenal that night. The Trojans that year started 4 sophomores and went 16-8, and who 2 years later would win the very first D2 state championship in OHSAA history.

Joe Suboticki passed this past weekend from pancreatic cancer. He was a heck of a basketball coach for the Trojans during the late 80’s early 90’s.
RIP Coach Sub!

Coach Suboticki coached 4 years at PHS, and compiled an amazing record of 94-11, with 4 district titles, 2 regional titles, 1 regional runnerup, 1 state championship, 1 state runnerup, and 4 OKAC titles. A true Trojan legend. Even years after he left Portsmouth, there were many conversations about Trojan basketball that included Suboticki.
