Both teams seem to be playing well! Thoughts?

Fairland seems to really be turning it on (finally).... Problem is, Adena is too.

Both teams senior laden.. Both teams extremely talented and well coached.

I'll take Fairland by 4....... but this game could go either way

I think Fairland stays rolling along. Adena has been excellent.

For me, I think it depends on how the game is called for Adena to win the game. They need Throckmorton to be able to play his game defensively to slow down Porter. If he gets in early foul trouble, then they’ll have to shuffle matchups and that takes away from their offensive game.

I think Adena has the length, athleticism and skill set to beat Fairland, but the Dragons have a ton of moxey and experience, which will make it a difficult task.

That being said, I still think the Warriors advance with a 5 point victory.

Hearing Waverly offered to host a Friday district final game, but went with Ironton. Driving distance aside, there is no comparison between these two venues, size wise with new 25% rule, more people could attend at Waverly.

@Ironton Hs? Damm 1.5 hour ride for Adena vs 30 mins for Fairland. Even with that being said I’m taking Adena in a tight one.

When the district finals are at the Convo some schools have a much shorter drive compared to others.

This is a district championship. All that matters is that this game is on a neutral floor. It is. And it's at a gym that will be able to hold more seats.

I admittedly don't know much about Fairland. Inside team? Outside team? Size?

Best shooter in SEO in Thomas, and probably has the smartest basketball IQ of any kid around.

Great guard in Porter who's already scored 1,000 as a junior.

Big man in Poclyn (probably 6'3" or 6"4") who has very good feet and hands. Him and Bennett will be a fun matchup to watch.

Another big/strong athlete in Williams, around 6'2" but big bodied.

They run a very smooth Princeton offense.

I can't stress enough --- their kids are super high IQ when it comes to the game of basketball. Extremely well coached.

Fairland 65-51

Having watched my Portsmouth Trojans lose to Fairland 13 straight times, I am quite familiar with how they play. What impresses me about the Dragons are several things.......on many possessions, everyone touches the ball; they have the ability to score inside or knock down 3's with Thomas and Porter; and they have some good contributions off the bench. When they are on their game, they are very tough to beat because they won't beat themselves.

BBJunky81 made an excellent point.......they have a high basketball IQ which is one the reasons they have been so dominant in the OVC and in tournament play. They have more than just basketball talent. Coach Speed has built an outstanding program that reloads year after year.

Only about 1.20 from Frankfort now with the bypass around Portsmouth. Make sure you take that. Rt 823 outside of Lucasville.

Was just coming here to post this! I’m glad that they’ll be able to stream from Ironton tonight for us who can’t make it.
