I think MT too high….FU feels like they aren’t high enough
Good list my friend
Re: Pfloyd's Elite 8 of Southern/SouthEast Ohio- Week #1
... I've seen them both with eyes on - MT has played 3 quality opponents - Unioto @ the U, Lancaster on a neutral court @ ZT, and a Hillsboro team @ the boro who I feel will be right around the Elite 8 if not in the top 8 this season - I like the big man Guthrie for MT, the role players are solid/youngsters that will get better when they start seeing some success - Fliehman(soph), Guess (soph),Osborne (10), Boedeker (10) - heck Guthrie is only a junior! I can't wait to see the matchup between Guthrie for MT and LeMaster of Wash CH - epic - they are the 2 best bigs I've seen so far hands down (as far as legit post players who can shoot the 3/ but have GREAT footwork in the paint to be BIGS on the block along with bodies you can't move off the block ... Fairfield Union struggles to score, and WILL struggle to score - Harrah is 6-5 not as aggressive as you want in the post, will be good vs teams that are undersized in the post but will have a difficult vs strong post players that are even smaller than himself ... they need more perimeter scoring - that isn't there yet - they don't get out in transition - they like a half court game (at least right now) - they will have a hard time putting up points imo - but they ARE a work in progress and stand at 3-0 ...Ironman92 wrote: Sun Dec 05, 2021 2:02 pmTop 10 look greatpfloyd wrote: Sun Dec 05, 2021 1:23 pm Pfloyd's Elite 8 of Southern/SouthEast Ohio - Week #1

Keep those Jeeps moving forward - they have some real tests coming up in the next 2 weeks ! vs The Burg, vs Valley, @ Waverly, @ Minford - none of them have lost yet! (Burg & Waverly haven't played yet but LOL) ... this gauntlet of games will tell us a whole lot about ALL 5 of these teams ...LucasDavenport wrote: Sun Dec 05, 2021 1:40 pm It’s officially basketball season!!

daniC! YOU , your colleagues do ALL of the work - I just gather the napkin stats, put it in a neat little package and pass it on to the SEOPs folks Below the Lancaster-Dixon Line as it is seen through the bifocals of an old "purple hippo" kind of guy ... it's ALL fun times! I could do this stuff for a living LOL - twizzlers/hot dogs/waters "that's all I need" AND high school hoops THAT'S all I need ...

Re: Pfloyd's Elite 8 of Southern/SouthEast Ohio- Week #1
My elitejeeps have the SOC2 gauntlet coming up. Or are we apart if the gauntlet for the other guys? Either way I don’t think any of those 4 games Will be decided by more than 10 points. Wheelersburg?????? Who knows. Valley will press our guts out. Waverly I suspect will be a 10 point game all the way. Minford, if we shut down The truth (Montgomery) we should handle them

Crooksville (0-2)
... please check the records - I didn't have score for South Point vs Greenup Co. KY from last night or Miller vs FCA also from last night ... I made a few major adjustments based on eyes on a few teams - Washington CH for example - the addition of Trotwood Madison guard Reico Colter along with the athletes that have returned to playing hoops makes them a top 8 team ... hence the giant jump into the Elite 8 (I've seen them play both games vs Warren & Unioto) - Reico, LeMaster in the paint, role players who can score the ball in John Wall, Haithcock x 2 (Raleigh/Isaiah) - WCH is legit ... there are other movers as well - Western Pike/Eastern Brown etc. trying to get the adjustments based on the transfers/player not playing/players returning - all of which prior to the Preseason Rankings we didn't know about ...
... some great games in the next two weeks which will tell us more about who should be up and who should continue to slide ...
Tuesday 12/7
South Webster vs Wheelersburg
Portsmouth vs South Point
Washington CH vs McClain
Friday 12/10
Chesapeake vs Portsmouth
Minford vs Waverly
South Webster vs Valley
Unioto vs Zane Trace

... those obviously aren't all of the good games but a few that will have a major impact on the rankings in the next 2 weeks ... let the beatings begin !!!
I mean Waverly is the only definite really good team, but it’s early and McClain will likely be in the mix most of the year.

Looking forward to taking in my first Warren game of the year against Belpre, tough schedule for us so far but hoping we can get Sallee more involved early on in the game.

Pfloyd,
Minford @ Lucasville Valley Tuesday Dec 7–should be a good one. Both undefeated going into this early season SOC 2 matchup.

Missed it didn't I !... one of those games we have to have to tell us how these 2 good teams compare vs each other and vs the likes of SW, Waverly, Wheelersburg etc. win or lose the committee learns something about each of these good teams ... I was curious how Valley was going go be losing Perkins to I'town and having a coaching change to boot. So far so good - this will tell us a lot for sure.clevelandbrowns#1 wrote: Sun Dec 05, 2021 9:07 pm Pfloyd,

Yes. I watched summer league games with PV and McClain at Western Pike. Western pressed them both the entire games. PV didn’t even score 30 and McClain was under 40 I think.Ironman92 wrote: Sun Dec 05, 2021 8:46 pmThis summer? Probably could beat ZT also but that’s not my point.
Miller matches up well with Ream and Chase Carter would make it very tough for their bigs. Reed Brewster has 1 turnover in 5 games at the PG.
Most teams don’t want to get guarded 90 feet for 32 minutes. So unless you have a PG like Robertson at Waverly or Copas at North Adams you’re in for a dogfight with the Indians.

I’ve watched a team lose in a summer league game by 40 and then in season beat that same team by 30.AnkleBraces wrote: Sun Dec 05, 2021 10:12 pmYes. I have a hard time believing a D4 team can press the whole game against a guard loaded, experience coached D2 team…not saying they can’t or Western can’t beat a good D2 team….just would be surprised to see what you watched in a summer league game happen in season.
Western is off to quite the start….eyes are on them and basketball is back at Latham.

I’ll also take D1 Dougie over Kellough. One of the easiest coaches I’ve ever scouted in my 15 years. It wasn’t just summer league though. Stewart played to win. They just aren’t that good. D2 is down Waverly/WCH are tough. D3 is down. D4 is up 5-6 good teams for the district. Trimble Valley ND Webster Western Whiteoak PV?Ironman92 wrote: Sun Dec 05, 2021 10:32 pmI’ve watched a team lose in a summer league game by 40 and then in season beat that same team by 30.AnkleBraces wrote: Sun Dec 05, 2021 10:12 pmYes. Re: Pfloyd's Elite 8 of Southern/SouthEast Ohio- Week #1
A (3-1) team ranked 62nd? Dang, Floyd always been hard on the Tornadoes. lol
I know my Dogs are not very good, but Derek Welch alone puts them above Belpre. Not far ahead, but at least a few spots.
The TVC-Ohio is a mess. I have the slightest idea who is going to win the league. My guess is the winner will have at least 3 league losses, maybe 4.
(9-3) wins you the Ohio, possibly even (8-4).

The SOC II is going to be one of the most competitive leagues in SEO this year.
Huge week for SOC 2 matchups to see some of the cream start to rise.
Tuesday:
Wheelersburg vs South Webster
Valley vs Minford
Friday:
Valley vs. South Webster
Waverly vs. Minford
5 of the top 6 teams in the league (West not listed) all face off against another top 6 foe. All games could go either way other than I don't think Minford can knock off Waverly.
