Transfers in the SOC
Scioto County barbershop talk is hot on the SOC1 right now.
I have heard two starters for Green are heading to Western. I’ve also heard another starter from Green could be heading to an SOC2 school. Heard Clay lost a returning starter to another school, Symmes Valley is losing a returning starter to Minford, Coach Cox at NB is pulling in some young talent from his AAU program and that St. Joe got two transfers from the ovc.
In the soc2 I heard a player is going back to Burg.
Crazy Crazy Crazy
I didn’t want to name any names because it’s all speculation and because at my old age I can’t remember all the names I heard.

I couldn’t agree more, but it seems like in our area each year we see more transfers.

Two kids going from Green to Western? Lol that’s quite the trip, at least won’t have to buy new colors. Fairland would’ve been closer lol

Why would Stockdale kids in Pike Co go to Green?

That's the 2 brothers I was thinking of as well but I thought they moved and they're not in Stockdale

If it’s who I’m thinking, those kids started at minford at a younger age. So this makes 4th school?

Re: Transfers in the SOC
Webster needs to step it up on the NIL money. We haven’t had a good transfer in 16 years
Re: Transfers in the SOC
I'm sure they will all be eligible due to phony address and AD's who don't care.

There not moving I know I’m not the greatest source because you can’t confirm but I’m friends with one of them and there not moving for sure
Re: Transfers in the SOC
A Notre Dame 2024 is at Ironton now too. SOC is seeing a lot of players moving around.
Re: Transfers in the SOC
I’ve heard from multiple sources that the Webb kid from SV has already enrolled at Raceland
Re: Transfers in the SOC
These transfers are definitely having an impact on teams. I have heard a lot about some of the shootouts and watched a few myself and think SOC1 will be a competitive league. The top of the league will be strong with Ironton St. Joe, New Boston, Western, Green and Notre Dame all strong. The bottom however will be weak. The boys from Green were not with Western at their shootouts, so I assume they are still at Green. Western will be strong regardless with what they have coming back. New Boston has looked really good from what I have heard with the new faces coach Cox has pulled in from his AAU program. Ironton St. Joe has beaten some very good D1, D2, and D3 teams at the Eastern Ohio Huggins camp with the players they have added. They will be near the top of the league. For St. Joe, I heard that one of the two OVC transfers was a top 20 player at the EOBC and that a returning starter for ISJ was a top 10 player. That says a lot about that team for such a huge shootout camp. I was also told that St. Joe is also where the Clay kid ended up and that he was playing very well too and should also make an impact there. All in all, I think New Boston, St. Joe, Western and Green (if the three kids stay) will be competitive in League. Notre Dame will be strong too but the kid who transferred to Ironton will hurt them. Losing the Webb kid will hurt Symmes Valley a lot. East also lost another kid to New Boston and will struggle. You can't read too much into summer shootouts but the transfer situation does seem like it will have an impact on this league.
