2022 Logan Boys Basketball

Post by Logangrad »

Chiefs lose a ton from last year and another for a few months with an injury. This will be a young group with little varsity experience and the schedule is daunting to say the least.
Coach Rider will field a new starting five almost entirely minus Cayden Alford at 6'5 in the middle.
Gone are Myers (Marietta playing), Mahaffey, Frasure, Frasure, and Angle.

Key contributors based on if they are healthy:
Simon Pierce, Izaac Swope, Kohen Maynard, Brayden Sturgell and Jackson Stimmell (soph) just to name a few and that is completely dependent on health and interest as its early in the process and football season will dictate who and when are ready.

Logan went 11-11 in 2021-22 and it seems the road this year may be tougher. Will be interesting to see the roster come November.

Logan schedule
Scrimmages:
Vinton County
Marietta

Pretty quiet right now about anything understandably with football only in week 4.

Gotcha.

Fisher’s best player transferred to Logan for his senior year over the summer, but I hadn’t heard if he was playing sports or not. He could be a useful guy coming off the bench if he was hooping there.

I just looked again at the schedule and I have said wow like three times lol. Crazy competition this season vs teams who historically have been outstanding basketball programs. The young Chiefs will get a taste of what it will take to compete in the OCC sooner than later.

7 of 8 on the road in December as well. Sheesh!! Not sure who they play the Pick Central event it’s just where they play. I’ll try and find out who the opponent is.

Olentangy Liberty is the scheduled opponent, per Arbiter.

When you’re on the page for
Logan’s basketball team on the site,
scroll along the schedule and click the “T” to the far right on the row that lists the event. It’ll take you to the games within.

I heard again last weekend that this kid was in fact playing basketball although not much has been said about him as of yet.

Tough schedule? There are (11) D2 teams on the schedule. For a D1 school, that is not a difficult schedule.

Ha well when you lose 80% of your scoring from last year and only 1 starter and maybe 1 other kid with any varsity experience; and that schedule; I would say its daunting to say the least. And please dont give me the D1 vs D2 crappy debate. Divisions schmidivisions. So if Logan had 0 returning starters and not one kid with any varsity experience, you think they should go out and defeat the D2 schools bc theyre D1?? :? :?: :?:

Saying you have a great schedule has nothing to do with the ability of your team. Compare Logan's schedule to the good D1 teams in the Central District. It is not close strength wise to what you are competing against come tournament time.

Your not going to find a perennial state power willing to travel 60+minutes SE of C-bus on a Tuesday night if its not a league game. You play who you can play and live with it. Just bc a school is listed as a DI doesn't mean they have the personal to beat ever school below them. Not sure what your driving at or if your just wanting to dog Logan.. I would bet the ladder of the two......

Not once did I say it was a "GREAT SCHEDULE." I said daunting or challenging. The schedule for Logan with the combination of very little varsity experience and injuries; will be extremely tough early on.

"Tough schedule? There are (11) D2 teams on the schedule. For a D1 school, that is not a difficult schedule."

This logic is illogical. And I have had this debate so many times frankly im over it. I dont care who you are at the D1 level, when you have to play the teams they are going to be playing, their inexperience early on will be tough to overcome.

Chiefs should have some good size up front.
Alford 6-5
Pierce 6-4
Jackson Stimmell 6-3

Did hear the kid from Fisher Catholic will help Logan for sure.
Other names who COULD BE in the mix for playing spots:
Sawyer Magdich Jr
Trevor Atkins Jr
Max Black Sr (out with an injury for now)
Hunter Hill Jr
Ayden St Clair Jr
Andrew Krantz Jr
Blake Chambers 10
Jack Walsh 10
Kaden Morgan 10
Kedrick Shade 10

Logan freshmen could have a strong team this year depending on who gets moved up to JV if any. Will be interesting to see who shows up for tryouts and practice this week.
