Not the greatest of starts for the TVC boys basketball season. Teams went a combined (4-10) during the opening weekend with two of those wins coming in cross over games. Eastern beating River Valley and Alexander defeating Belpre. One win was over a former TVC member when Nelsonville-York beat Miller and the last was a South Gallia victory over New Boston. Teams will hope to fare better when they return to the court this week with the marquee match-up Friday night between Alexander and Federal Hocking, who are both expected to contend for league titles.

TVC-Hocking and Ohio division standings after week one. Alexander, Wellston and Southern are the only teams yet to suffer a loss. League games begin this Friday with a big match-up in McArthur between Alexander and Vinton County. The Federal Hocking Lancers will continue their brutal schedule this week with games at D2 Marietta, at South Gallia and at D2 Morgan. Fed began the season with 2 games versus undefeated Caldwell and (3-0) Alexander.
