#52 ... Athens is (6-11) and controls its own destiny in the TVC-Ohio. If the Bulldogs win their 4 remaining league games they are at minimum co league champs. VC, NY, Wellston and Meigs. Crazy.
Re: Pfloyd's Elite 8 of Southern/SouthEast Ohio -Week #9
... the Martin RPI rankings will be putting the committee of one - me - out of business I'm thinking ... but it's been fun while it's lasted ...

I wonder…. Has a team ever played in the State Semifinals and only won one game in the following season?

Nah, computers can’t see the eye test. It’s cool to look at, but I’d rather have both options
Re: Pfloyd's Elite 8 of Southern/SouthEast Ohio -Week #9
Pfloyd Martin rpi is good too, but nothing compares to the human element and knowing the dedication you put into the rankings.
Re: Pfloyd's Elite 8 of Southern/SouthEast Ohio -Week #9
Your rankings are considerably better than the RPI ranking I saw on another thread. Almost as if Martin made errors on the inputs and strength of schedule issues…
Re: Pfloyd's Elite 8 of Southern/SouthEast Ohio -Week #9
I was actually wondering this the other day... I'm not sure I've ever seen quite the drop off from one year to the next like we've seen at Waverly.

It’s also an exceptionally strong year for the SOC2 and 16 really tough games for a team that lost everything.

Re: Pfloyd's Elite 8 of Southern/SouthEast Ohio -Week #9
What would quantify or qualify this as an exceptionally strong year for the SOC 2?
Also curious how Westfall can go 0-2 last week and not drop a single spot. I understand one game was a great showing vs. Zane Trace, but with Paint Valley? End of the day still 2 losses and they seem to be on the skids. Too high in my opinion. Also think Alex is too high. 2 losses now to Athens?

Re: Pfloyd's Elite 8 of Southern/SouthEast Ohio -Week #9
Games the committee will be keeping an eye on Tuesday night :
North Adams @ Peebles ... NA should get the W but looking at an improved Indians group ... good game to see where PHS is going into the post season ... jumping to the TVC - Vinton County @ Athens ... the Bulldogs of Coach Cozart took down Alexander last week, can they make it a double sweep of the top 2 teams in the TVC Ohio? with a W, Athens can muck up the waters big time making it about a 20 team tie LOL ... looking at the Northwest Territories - Logan Elm entertains Fairfield Union ... the Braves of Coach Stiverson have made an attempt to keep the games in the 30's or 40's to give them a chance at W's ... playing without 3 forecasted starters all season , 7-10 is outstanding, FU is in the Elite 8 at 15-3 entering the Week that IS ... Coach Shaeffer has the Falcons believing/buying into D / running the offense through the Bigs in the paint ... FU is the favorite but at the Reservation anything can happen ... the Twin State League is up for grabs ... Warren hosts Fort Frye at the Coliseum ... the Warriors are coming off of a winless week on the hardwood dropping TSL games on the road to those foreigners in Moth Man Land in Point Pleasant, then losing big fellow Washington County foe Marietta ... the offense needs to be spread out over the entire rotation of players again as it was when Coach Maddox's Warriors ran off 8 straight W's including a 13 point win over FF ... as much as I want to give the W to the Warriors - the game of basketball still requires putting the ball through hoop ... we'll see which Warriors team shows up for the final Warren home game of the regular season ... Marietta is on the road across the Big River - taking on Point Pleasant ... PP has a couple of big men of the 6-6 and 6-7 size with length ... can Marietta continue the hot shooting they showed vs Warren? will they have 27 turnovers? hard to win 1 game when you have 27 TOs, and 2nd ? on the road? ... hopefully we can get a scores from the other side of the river ... Sheridan @ Morgan - should be a good, tight game ... the Generals without the size/strength in the paint of past years ... on Ohio side of the river in the OVC - Ironton travels to Chesapeake ... Ironton is in the top 15 - lots of good pieces but the Peake is a sub .500 team that I wouldn't want to play in the regular OR ONE AND DONE seasons ... no free live feed from Chesapeake so we'll have to watch for the updates on preps - would not be surprised that the Panthers of Coach Ater hold serve at home ... other games of interest South Point @ Cabell Midland WVa ... Northwest @ South Webster, Green @ Portsmouth Notre Dame ... pretty good menu of games for a Tuesday night ...

Rock Hill Varsity Boys over Grace Christian last night 86-39
RHHS moves to 9-9 overall on the season.
Next game is Friday at home and back in conference vs South Point.
