Who is “HIM” in the Week that IS? 1/23 -1/27/24

Post by pfloyd »

Trying to give props to all of the players across the SE District who had excellent performances each game night - win or lose! .... offensive or defensive performances! ... starters or off the bench! - players who had outstanding contributions to the TEAM effort ... I only get to 1 game per night - those players get recognized in my writeups BUT there are many, many, many players who deserve to be recognized for what they do for their teams nightly, on teams/games I don't get to - with your assistance WE can make this happen - thanks, pfloyd

Please post exceptional individual performer names/with school name & stat lines from the Week that IS (Tuesday 1/23 - Saturday 1/27/24 :

Northwest's Tanner Bolin put up 30 points tonight in their 66-57 win at Eastern Pike. Lintz went out in the 3rd with a ankle injury. Logan Wolfenbarker had a couple big buckets and Sophomore Ethan Crabtree hit two big threes after Lintz went out.

Unioto’s Blake Fitch, scoring 20 points, including the last 8 for the Shermans with the final 2 coming in a tough 12 footer with 8.1 to play to help Unioto beat Zane Trace, 59-58. The Shermans trailed 54-47 with 1:17 to play. Blake Hoops scored 16 points for the Tanks off the bench tonight to continue his hot streak since 2024 began.

Zane Trace’s Landen Jarrell scored 23 in his return to action tonight, his first game in over a month. Brock Jarrell (12, including 3-4 from 3) and Gunnar McCullough (13) were also big for the Pioneers tonight as well.

I know it's not the SE District, but huge props to Morgan senior Carson Mummey. He broke the school's single game scoring record with 44 Tuesday night in a 91-76 win over Philo.

The old mark was 42, set by Will Finley in the 1971-72 season, then tied by Trevor Treadway in the 84-85 season.

Northwest defeated Western tonight 60-48. #12 for NW (Bolin I guess, couldn’t understand the announcer) had 50. Hit probably 6 triples and 12 free throws. Literally couldn’t miss.

The him for The Peake tonight in my opinion was the TEAM. Worked hard to get the win in spite of some adversity in 4th quarter. The spark came from Danny Maynard who came out in the second half and nailed 3 3's in row. That is what you expect from a senior.
Still missing one starter who hopefully will be back Tues with limited playing time.

That’s what I heard also! 80 points in two games! Thats insane. Does he get the game ball for his 50 piece?

Thinking the 50 is going to be the school record. Not sure yet.
He has definitely stepped up in Lintz's absence.

The sophomore Hunter Barnard. The last 3 minutes of regulation and over time last night in one of the most hostile gyms I’ve ever been in. You had to be there
