I don't comment alot. But I'll say this. P Floyd (respectfully).. explain. Similar records. Miami Trace beat Jackson 2x. How are they ranked ahead? I get Jackson beat Unioto and MT lost to them. In my opinion... h2h (especially 2x and on their home court) with very similar records. Im taking the team that beat them every time. Also, I appreciate everything you do on this page. I just think this 1 you overlooked. Nothing but respect to you sir. Just some food for thought.
Re: Pfloyd's Elite 8 of Southern/SouthEast Ohio - Week #8
... yep, Waterboy456 , you've got a great point AND the committee of one was trying to figure out how I was going to JUMP Miami Trace over 6 other teams ... I moved MT up, moved Jackson down ... ( Jackson beat Western Brown this week - a team that beat MT in the opening game of the season - had Jackson not had that W this week , I probably would have moved MT over them ... I have MT where they are with an asterisk*, MT takes on Minford on Tuesday night, @ Wash CH Saturday and @ Fairfield Leesburg next week Tuesday - wins obviously moves them into the top 8, "good losses" also moves them up higher as they DO have the trump card on Jackson AND Washington CH ... so yes this one is on ME but teams get where they should be "over the course of the season not overnight" ...Waterboy456 wrote: Sun Jan 28, 2024 5:11 pm I don't comment alot. I’m good with the rankings of the SVC teams. A tough week for Zane Trace, as they nearly went 3-0 and 0-3. I think they are better than what they showed this past week, but you’ve gotta put it together on the court.
I saw a few seconds of the Westfall at Paint Valley game, wish I could see more to understand what happened for it to be that close. I know Robertson scored at a high level, but PV has struggled big time this year. Hopefully they are on an upswing now as they have been in tighter games lately.

Re: Pfloyd's Elite 8 of Southern/SouthEast Ohio - Week #8
I thought The Peake would have been a little higher this week considering they had 3 wins this week. Just my opinion since we avenged the losses to Ironton and South Point and we have beaten Fairland. North Adams probably hurt us too.
Re: Pfloyd's Elite 8 of Southern/SouthEast Ohio - Week #8
Leesburg Fairfield would finish bottom 2 in the SOC3 or whatever the heck they call it now. Minford beat NA by 20 in their gym. After the NA win over Leesburg I expected them to drop. Other than that looks solid as always!

Just a quick question, would anyone say Leesburg would be the favorite in a game against anyone else in the top 8?GoAt 10 wrote: Sun Jan 28, 2024 9:21 pm Leesburg Fairfield would finish bottom 2 in the SOC3 or whatever the heck they call it now. Fairfield would probably be 4th, but they are way better than people give them credit for here. NA also hasn’t lost since that Minford game…and got housed by Minford last year before beating them for a district title.GoAt 10 wrote: Sun Jan 28, 2024 9:21 pm Leesburg Fairfield would finish bottom 2 in the SOC3 or whatever the heck they call it now. Probably not, but I couldn’t say for sure since I’ve only seen 6 of the 8 teams. They have a very good PG, are Senior heavy and have a nice junior who can fill it up at times. They have a similar result as Wheelersburg did against Western, also beat Fed Hock by double figures like Marietta, Warren and SW did.SouthEast Hoops Fan wrote: Sun Jan 28, 2024 9:23 pmJust a quick question, would anyone say Leesburg would be the favorite in a game against anyone else in the top 8?GoAt 10 wrote: Sun Jan 28, 2024 9:21 pm Leesburg Fairfield would finish bottom 2 in the SOC3 or whatever the heck they call it now. They’ll be a heavy favorite to win a district in D4, which is likely their ceiling, which is pretty good for a school that hasn’t won one since 2013.

I could see Leesburg giving Wheelersburg a hard time. I was really impressed when I saw them play at Alexander. Out hustled everyone we watched play that day. Then again they might get bodied by a team with a significant size advantage (SW, Warren, Minford)
If they were SOC3 they’re firmly above Valley PW and Waverly. The top 3 is still up in the air right now depending on Minford and SW rematch and minford v Burg 2.0

First, nobody knows SE Ohio basketball better than Pfloyd. However, the world would be a boring place if we agreed with one another all the time. In that spirit I offer the following:pfloyd wrote: Sun Jan 28, 2024 3:39 pm Pfloyd's Elite 8 of Southern/SouthEast Ohio - Week #8

-Marietta continues to deserve the No. 1 spot. It's very close with Warren, but still.
-Meigs should be 8 or 10 spots higher than where this list has them.
-New Lexington deserves a higher ranking, possibly 6 to 8 spots higher.
-Vinton County should be 3 or 4 spots higher on the list.
-Fairfield Leesburg would likely not be favored head-to-head against any teams in the current top 8, especially Washington CH

Re: Pfloyd's Elite 8 of Southern/SouthEast Ohio - Week #8
I think an argument can be made either way here, but I think I agree with PFlyod on Warren being ahead of Marietta right now. They split their head to head meetings. Warrens opponents have a slightly higher win percentage than Marietta’s opponents. Warrens other two losses are to Linsly (who I think would win this district if they were in it) and Parkersburg who I think is better than their record and it was close game. Marietta’s other loss is too John Glenn who is good team, but they handled Marietta pretty easily that night.Hookshot wrote: Mon Jan 29, 2024 9:57 amFirst, nobody knows SE Ohio basketball better than Pfloyd. Would like to get eyes on CH soon, if it wasn't so far that Miami Trace game this weekend is looking tempting.

Lot of options to watch, although I’m not sure if the TV station streams. I believe Campus Nation on YouTube should be there.Whs95fan wrote: Tue Jan 30, 2024 10:23 pm Would like to get eyes on CH soon, if it wasn't so far that Miami Trace game this weekend is looking tempting.

Unioto beats McClain 65-35, but the big news is that they hit 9 3’s, including 8 for 9 in the first half. That’s the biggest worry I’ve seen for them when it comes time to one and done time.

Thanks! I try and make it to a couple games when Warren is off but the live stream wins out this round.danicalifornia wrote: Wed Jan 31, 2024 12:07 amLot of options to watch, although I’m not sure if the TV station streams.
