Football is officially over for the Noles. Now we turn to basketball. A lot of excitement over this year’s team. An outstanding senior class complemented by talent in the lower classes. Can MC take the next step? Hiland will always be there waiting.

Going to make for a really rugged district tournament with a loaded Hiland and Monroe Central and Malvern team

Not discounting the rest of the district, but out of MC, Hiland, and Malvern I think you would want to seed yourself so you are the only one out of those 3 on your side of the bracket.

The top three seeds will be real interesting,to see where they go on the bracket, right now the strength of schedule I will put Hiland first Monroe Central second and Malvern third

MC will be one of the best small school teams in the state. Really talented, really good basketball team. That game with Warren will be high level basketball.

Was told the toughest thing about Monroe Central is finding a seat in the gym. It was packed last season every game.
With entire team back this year you'd better get there by reserve tip off. What a homecourt advantage they'll have .

Do you happen to know if the MC girls are also in D6? If so, do you happen to know who's in there district?

Scrimmaged Buckeye Trail and John Glenn last night at Trail. MC has a solid squad. They play hard on the defensive end and are extremely physical. Very good when they can get out and run. Struggled a bit last night in the HC but it’s still very early. Great depth with 8-10 guys who are all athletic and can shoot the 3. Howell is very good as well.
Definitely a team I’ll be following.

Have to figure Monroe Central is in one of the toughest districts since it was consolidated. All those schools are going to be strong.

I agree. I hope their upgraded schedule prepares them better than last year.
Surfsider what school are you from. You’re very respectful of all the Monroe Co and Belmont Co schools. Salute to you

Not sure a team that has won one sectional tournament in the time frame of this senior class can be proclaimed one of the best small school teams in the state at this point... I think they can get there especially with some statement wins during the year, but I don't think we assert that currently..
I say that always rooting for SEO and hoping this team puts it together in a loaded district.

Didn't Monroe Central finish #8 in the final AP poll?

Tough game coming up next Tuesday @ Ferry. First game of the season. Fill up on turkey tomorrow and then get ready for the Purple Riders. They’ve got a great team.
This is the beginning of a busy December that will test the Noles

Hope to see them play Wheelersburg after all I have heard. Ferry was the team that beat them last year, right? And then MC thumped them a couple of days later?

Yes they split with Ferry. They locked down on Ferry’s big guy and got him in early foul trouble if I remember right.
Glad to see Wheelersburg who has A+ athletics on our schedule. To be the best you have to play the best. Best of luck to your Pirates.
