Seems like nobody is talking about this game?? Anyone have any thoughts? Think it will be a hard fought game just like almost every time these two teams play, but Minford will pull it out at home.

I’m expecting a great, emotionally charged game. No one should be fooled by Wheelersburg’s 4-4 record. They’ve been battle tested. Harvest Prep, Woodsfield Monroe Central, South Webster…all great teams. Wheelersburg is coming off a double overtime win against Jackson Tuesday while Minford is coming off a 13 day layoff. As this will be my first time watching Wheelersburg, I will be curious to see who they will turn to in crunch time to get buckets after losing Devin Lattimore to graduation, capable of taking over a game and scoring whenever he wanted.

I think Wheelersburg's tough schedule having them at 4-4 is why nobody is talking about this game. Jackson played South Webster really close and had a big win over Jackson this week. Burg swept Minford last season, but did graduate Lattimore and Swords. Should be a competitive matchup.
SOSA will have this one LIVE. Watch here:

... the Burg is a team to watch! they're figuring out how to replace the on court leadership and scoring of Lattimore who could take over a game for stretches where he would put up 10-12 point in a 4-5 minute time span ... got into the paint for points, transition points with quick hands on the perimeter ... they're figuring it out ... scoring by committee - in the lose to SW they had 4 players in double figures, 6 of 7 players seeing the floor scored 6 or more points ... lack of size hurts BUT once they figure out that getting position inside and WANTING the ball more than the opposing player is key - they'll be fine ... daniC pointed out that the Burg losses are to solid teams ... the collective record of the teams WHS has lost to is 35-7 ...of those 7 losses 5 belong to Harvest Prep who has a record of 9-5 with THEIR losses being to 5 teams (out of state all star teams) with a collective record of 66-20 with all but 1 having double digit winning records (8-2, 15-6, 15-3, 10-8, 18-1) ... I've had the Burg in my top 20 from the preseason to now ... great group of junior athletes who know how to win, know what it takes to win , have won at all levels - Rucker, Bivens, McGraw, Evans ... sophs Xaxier Miller/Bryson Monavon ... one senior in Xander Mowery ... I'm looking forward to watching this one on the SOSA livestream when I get back from Western vs Symmes Valley late tonight ...

I’ll probably be there. Put me on the headset SOSA.
This one’s a toss up and will come down to the final minute. Burg has Minfords number.

If Minford plays its best game, Falcons by 20. Regardless, it could be a down-to-the-wire last possession outcome. I really like Burg’s team and how they are very capable of getting after it.
Fouls, injuries, sickness, girlfriend issues, family trouble, etc. Sometimes we don’t know or think about any of this. Can impact a game significantly.

All things being equal/normal I like Minford by 12. But what tough scheduling for the Falcons, turning around and facing Warren Saturday. From everything I've seen I'd make them solid favorites against both teams, but Warren has a much better chance on Saturday with tonight off.

... you might see the Warren coaching staff in the crowd at Minford tonight! ...

Burg knows how to play well against burg. They've done it before they could do it again. With these teams you never can know for sure who will win. Either a minford blowout win or a burg close win.

These two teams just not in the same stratosphere. We'll see if Minford can get it back together in 24 hours to tangle with Warren. If both teams play their near-best, Minford by 15 over the Warriors. No guard in the region can play with Montgomery most nights and no taller player is as versatile and skilled as Kayser. My opinion of course subject to counterarguments.

Belt meet arse.
Minford on a different level when Montgomery and Kayser are on. Burg has nobody on their roster to match up with Keyser’s height, and Montgomery’s athleticism.
To be fair to Burg though, this likely the best Minford team of all time.*

After the 3rd quarter Minford pulled their starters with the score being 70-39. 4th quarter really doesn’t mean anything.
Final score Minford 92 Burg 53. Burg not near the level of Minford and had nothing for Kayser/Montgomery.
Huge test tomorrow for the Falcons against Warren. If they lose a game during the regular season, this is probably their best chance to do so. Hopefully they stay hot and keep rolling. Their defensive effort has been tremendous and not much talked about. Kudos to Shoemaker for getting this level of effort and intensity on both ends of the floor. Seems he’s getting the most out of his players this year on a more consistent basis.

I get you're saying the 4th quarter doesn't mean anything but Burg should be much deeper and it says something that Minford's backups scored 22 in the 4th and outscored Burg 22-14.

If I'm Warren, I try whatever I can to get Montgomery and Kayser in foul trouble. If those two are healthy and on the floor all game, I just don't see the game being all that close. It is hard to know if pressing full court and fast-breaking for three quarters took any gas out of the Minford tank -- Warren better hope so.

The Wheelersburg coach obviously didn't watch any film. Why was their game plan to chuck up as many threes against minford? They weren't falling so stop doing it. Try and be physical and not play hot potato with the rim.
