Hope so! Minford with the long hike to St.Clairsville to play the defending state champs Lutheran East out of Cleveland. Interesting that South Webster was also paired with the NE Ohio private school in D7. The state final 4 pairings have been predetermined in the past but clearly not any longer….. similar to football

Crumble kid is super good for them he's got several high major offers and only a junior. Ive watched minford all year they love to pressure in full court and half court but that would be a big mistake against LE who is faster at every position.

lookin at maxpreps they don't have a SR on the roster so maybe the youth could get to them and minford pulls a shocker? Idk... any team that can knock off richmond heights has to be one of best teams in state.

Kayser v Crumble be fun to watch

Minford's strategy should be to try to get Crumble in foul trouble. Not much size on their roster aside from him. LUE's guards are excellent though. It will be a mistake if Minford tries to run with them.

KASYER FOR 35 ON CRUMBLES HEAD. SHOEMAKER GOES CRAZY FOR 4 3’s and 18 points.

How does a state semi be played at St Clairsville? That's stupid in itself. Nothng centralized or logical about it.
OHSAA always drops the ball.

Lol…yep. Lutheran East will bring about 50 fans, but Minford has the farther drive?

Made too much sense to just play it in Columbus, but it the OHSAA we’re talking about.*

Where should this game be played? Maybe should play it at Waverly? That would be fair and a great location.

you may not like the location but the ECO CENTER is a beautiful facility to watch a game. it is located right along I-70. also nearby is a mall and shopping plaza with lots of places to eat and places to stay if you dont want to drive back.

Let me know if this makes sense to any of you. Crumble won a state championship as a freshman at Lutheran East, transfers to Richmond Heights and leads them to a state championship as a sophomore last year. Now he’s BACK at Lutheran East as a Junior. I’m sure if you research their roster you’d find other similar moves.

Minford proudly has 4 starters who played together in 1st or 2nd grade all-stars in the old Franklin furnace gym.. competitive balance didn’t fix anything! Wishing all Public schools luck in the final four.
RANT OVER

This! This right here is the most correct take! Superstars transferring each year to the best team, while us lowly public schools just hope to get a seat at the table. Please Lord let Minford win!

How easy it is for some of us to forget about the New Boston teams of 4-5 (?) years ago…

I look for this to be a highly contested game.

Miford will have to play a near perfect game and i would say shoot atleast 60% from the field to have a shot which i believe can happen especially if Myles gets hot from the outside LE is very fast and quick but minford is in the final four where anything can happen and you can't win if your not there so let's go falcons play with heart and alot of energy and just maybe come out victorious

I’ve seen Montgomery get hot and he’s definitely played some high level basketball. I don’t look for the moment to be too big for him or Kayser. Just hope the supporting cast can relax and play their roles the same as they have all season.

There’s still a good shot that Minford has 2 of the top 3 or so players on the floor in this game. Live ball turnovers and rebounding will be the difference. Go SOC!

Is a competitive balance number of 56 bad?

Are my Falcons underdogs? Sure.

My favorite thing about basketball though is the upset. If Minford is hitting shots, gets some rebounds, they can be in there at the end. I think they have the talent to play at a higher level than we’ve seen so far in this run, now is the time to put it all together for four quarters.
