Lutz is a very nice ballplayer for Athens. Circleville got way too inpatient on offense in the second half, but give Athens credit for that. Impressed with the Bulldogs' performance.

Not sure who will be more glad when this class graduates from Athens, the TVC, MSL or bman?
I'm pretty sure the only loss by Athens to a MSL team (in both football & basketball) was that agonizing comeback win by LE over the 'Dogs during the regular season at McAfee last year.
BUT ... Athens did upset LE Joe's freshmen year in the Logan sectional - so lets call that match-up on the hardwood a wash.
Let me think here ... Athens ended LE's basketball tournament run in 2012, Circleville's run in 2013 at the Convo, Circleville's football season in 2012 and Logan Elm's football season in 2013. Did I miss any bman?
;)

Athens will have no trouble with Logan Elm this year. They are not good at all. Score should be the same as this game if not worse. Circleville beat Logan Elm 34-33 earlier this year.

Logan Elm is below average, but will improve some with their coaching.

Circleville actually beat Athens in 2012 after Athens upset LE at the sectional. Circleville-Athens did not play in the 2013 tournament, but Athens did win in the regular season in the same fashion as they did last night with a big second half.
Athens has a very talented group that is fun to watch in football and basketball.
Circleville needs to learn a lot of lessons from last night's loss to become a better basketball team. If there is a rematch at the Convo this year, they could do a lot better if they learn those lessons.
As for Logan Elm this season, everyone knew coming in that it was a retooling season - that's what happens when you lose 80 percent of your scoring and 99 percent of everything else. Most of the key pieces will be back next year, and there are a couple of wings who will come up that can probably help some. And Coach Stiverson, Coach Holbert and crew can flat out coach.

PFloyd
Vinton County completely dominated Southeastern tonight. This team is going to be fun to watch over the next couple of years. Bartoe and Jones, both Sophomores, along with Junior Albright, have been lighting up the scoreboard for the young Vikings. Seeing them coming together and playing team ball early this season. Tough schedule this year, looking to see how they end up this season.

Unioto 77
Fairfield Union 64
Not nearly as close as the final score indicates. 7-0 start for the Shermans with an improved Westfall ballclub coming into Frenchtown on Saturday.
