Nelsonville-York beat Zane Trace convincingly.....
Maybe the Buckeyes shouldn't be ranked near the Bottom.

It's all in the twizzlers. Have your coach leave some at the door for Pfloyd and you will move up Lol.Orange and Brown wrote: ↑Mon Dec 04, 2017 9:42 pm Nelsonville-York beat Zane Trace convincingly.....

I thought Nelsonville looked better than I expected, but Huntington may be at the very bottom of the list before 2017 even ends. I'll be looking forward to how the Buckeyes look moving forward, definitely an athletic bunch.

Fairfield Union got back on track tonight with a big win over Watterson 43-42. They play Bloom-Carroll on Saturday. Their young guys played much better tonight and I expect them to improve a lot over the next 4 or 5 games.
Re: Pfloyd's Elite 8 of Southern/SouthEast Ohio Week #1 ... 1/2 a week ...
Chillicothe 52
Zane Trace 37 a final
... An expected "feel your way" opening contest for the Cavs ... neither team could find the bottom of the net in the first 2 quarters - Coach Huffer's Cavs played D in the first half but the offense was sluggish to say the least ... ugly to say the most LOL ... CHS had but 3 fgs in the first half ... FTs 4/10 in the opening half ... 5 TOs ... the Pioneers were not much better even with tonight's game being ZTs 2nd out of the gates - 13 second qtr points - led by PG Cam Evan's 6 pts had ZT leading 17-14 at intermission ...
CHS came out with 1/2 court pressure which allowed the Cavs to get into the transition game (2 Trans fg in the 3rd) ... the Cavs were able to use their team quickness at both ends in the 2nd half forcing 9 ZT turnovers in the final 2 quarters ... Maughmer x 2, Roderick x 2 , Jalen Jordan, and the new man on the court for the Cavs Brandon Noel looked more in their element forcing the issue on D with the 1/2 court press ... trapping in the 1/2 court ... pushing the ball , opening up the offense , spreading the floor more and having better spacing - all of which allowed EVERYONE to get to the rim as Chillicothe ended up with 34 points in the paint on the evening to go with 10 points in the transition game ...
Pfloyd's Official "unofficial" Napkin Stats - Zane Trace
Scoring ...Cam Evans 14, Isaac Beam 11, Triton Davidson 7, Drew Rittenhouse 4, Gabe O'Dell 1
3 Pointers ... 0/2
FTs ... 11/16
TOs ... 17
PNP ... 26 points in the paint
Transition ... 2 points
Pfloyd's Official "unofficial" Napkin Stats - Chillicothe
Scoring ...Simon Roderick 12, Branden Maughmer 11, Will Roderick 11, Brandon Noel 8, Jayvon Maughmer 6, Jalen Jordan 3, Jason Benson 1
3 Pointers ... 4/14 ... Brandon Noel 1, Simon Roderick 1, Jayvon Maughmer 1, Jalen Jordan 1
FTs ........ 6/14
TOs ........ 11
PNP ....... 17fg/34 points in the paint
Transition Pts ... 10 points
... Cavs will go 8 deep this year ... newcomer Branden Noel is the real deal at 6-5 or 6-6 crashes the boards, can put it on the floor , shoots the three ball AND plays D - great addition ... Jayvon Maughmer is going to be a special player just like big brother Branden - good size, good handles, gets to the rim AND can shoot the triple ... TEAM defense is outstanding AND will get better ... FG shooting WILL improve ... FT shooting was ugly LOL ...

I don't think the Bucks should be so low in the rankings but in his defense, he was going off of what the Buckeyes did last year.Sportsfanallnitelong wrote: ↑Fri Dec 08, 2017 10:29 pm Let’s see where Mr Pfloyd puts VC after this loss.... number 62 upsets the number 3!!!!!! WOW...
I'm sure VC will be solid when they get their other 2 starters back.
I would think at 0-2 they would drop out of the top 5.

Nice 2nd half dual between Speakman & Bohyer.
Re: Pfloyd's Elite 8 of Southern/SouthEast Ohio Week #1 ... 1/2 a week ...
... last night's Nelsonville York win over Vinton County IS an excellent win for the Buckeyes , it COUNTS in the TVC standings no matter WHO played or didn't play last night - congratulations to NY on the "W" ... with THAT said - VC was without the services of 2 starters in Nevan & Naylan Yates ??? if THAT is the case- THAT hurts ! yet VC was able to get this one into OT, still put up 80 points , still had the chance to pull this one out ... I wasn't there obviously, I haven't seen the box score ... what do I take from the loss ? Nelsonville York IS better than I have them ranked - I knew that after last weekends games, as some of the folks who saw NY play said the Buckeyes play hard, are quick, have a couple of good scorers - kudos to NY again on the W ... Vinton County ? even with Yates x 2 out of the lineup - the VC defense is NOT what we have seen from VC TEAMS past - 84 points is still 84 points vs the VC TEAM defense ... on the positive side for the VC faithful - Coach Combs & Co. are getting valuable playing time for lots of kids ... IF I'm a VC opponent, THAT scares the heck outta me ! Vinton County has talent beyond their starting 5 (with both Yates boys playing in that starting 5) but it was not varsity EXPERIENCED talent - NOW the youngsters are having to play, having to put their talent up against varsity competition - the kids are LEARNING , the kids are getting BETTER, the kids are getting VARSITY EXPERIENCE ... the silver lining is that Vinton County will be deeper, varsity experienced deeper for when these teams who are now competing with VC with the depleted lineup see VC in "round #2" ... High School Basketball - gotta love it !!!
... I would assume that Naylan Yates will not play vs Logan tonight ? Ty Webb what say you ? ...
