Pfloyd's Elite 8 of Southern/SouthEast Ohio -Week 3

What a 2012-13 season SO FAR!!! as 93bulldog, I92 mentioned on other threads, the top of the heap SEEMS to be solid (Ironton/Warren) while any one of the other teams in the Elite 8 in any given week are a toss up with teams leading the way on the Treehugger list able to knockoff ANY other team on a given night ... the "Week that Was" showed to be no exception to the rule as 4 of last weeks top 8 teams had to put "L's" on their handy dandy pocket schedules - Piketon losing to Unioto, Minford dropping one to rival South Webster, Vinton County lost in their 3rd game of the week to SVC Paint Valley, while SCOL Miami Trace suffered 1 setback (70-74 to Madison Plains) ... how did the dust settle after last weeks action ??? ...

Looks good, but Miami Trace actually won the game with Westfall in overtime.

Glad to see my Miller Falcons hanging on the end table by a thread ... they have a pretty big game with NY Friday - another good oportunity to show folks they can play the game of basketball.

definitly a plus if you can keep it going week-to-week ... just missing a gameday or two makes it extremly tough to catch up with records and what not.

BTW ... all communication problems are fixed - and Power 105/970 WATH - will in fact have the game tomorrow night ... as well as the River game on Saturday night.

Westfall is a team that I would keep an eye on, not an Elite 8 team, but we could see them down the road at the Convo.

Led by big Alek Stonerock, Doug Hardin, and the emerging Jon Thomas, Coach Carson's Mustangs have been in some battles and have been improving since a lackluster effort at the ZT tipoff. Had a shot to take a late lead against Piketon and missed a potential game winner against a good Miami Trace squad. Add in losing leads against Zane Trace and Huntington and they are very close to being 6-1. Obviously, they are what their record says they are (2-5) but they have a chance to spark a turnaround against (5-2) Amanda tonight and Circleville on Saturday.

... the committee of one - me - looking to get one more "W" out of the Falcons outside of the win over Belpre before moving them off of the End Table ... Coach Kline's NY boyz are continuing to play good bb moved up the Treehugger list in the Week that WAS ...

... now I've tuned in to the 970 WATH broadcast the las t2 times to get nothing but "air" and then some type of Water World broadcast from New Lex :122245 I'll believe it when I hear it 93dog ... I'm thinking 93dog was just seeing if pfloyd would sit around the puter all night like some Pavlov's Dog experiment drooling LOL ...

... daniC - I'm definitely keeping the Mustang squad on the radar ... they HAVE played solid basketball, a team that can and will knock you off if you don't bring your "A" game ... when looking at the games every week I ALWAYS look at how well teams play even if they pick up "L's" - Westfall IS NOT a team you look at only their record to decide where they should be ranked ...
