Re: Glenwood 2011-2012
Let me clear this up I am not saying that the point guard is doing a bad job, I am saying that the other teams are going to be on her at full court press and when she is passing the ball under that much pressure to the open players the ball is being recieved by the oher team (not because she not doing right). And the statement about rethinking the point guard is not the person but the plays. there needs to be a play where the other girls are facing her in her passes so the other team isn't getting the ball. I enjoy watching the Tigers play and don't get to make all their game but when I do it is very interesting because they are a very scappy team. I think that they have been under estimated this year and will do a great job. so if anyone was offended by my post should have made it more clear. However, I was running late and was trying to type in a hurryBallgame wrote:Wow! The tigers lose one game and people are calling out players. From what I understand the point guard is just a sophomore playing the most difficult position on the floor. From what I seen the few times I have saw her she has done a good job. What point guard doesn't have turnovers. People just need to allow her to develop into the player she will become. I am sure the Coach Estep and his staff are working daily to improve not only point guard play, but the whole team. Let's not point the finger at one player. The tigers are making a name for themselves. The last thing they need are people putting a negative spin on their great early start. Good luck Tigers the rest of the way. Keep playing hard!

This game was a dandy from tipoff to the end! Excellent game with the largest lead for either team was 8 points. The Flyers had their 8 point lead at 2:06 in the first quarter, while the Tigers led on two occasions at the beginning of the final quarter 37-29 and with around 3 minutes to go in the game at 41-33.
The Lady Flyers came to play jumping out to a 17-11 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Tigers rallied with a 11-0 run and finished the second quarter leading 27-23. The third quarter was pretty much basket for basket to end 35-29 Tigers. The Flyers gave a valiant effort in the last four minutes of the game outscoring the hosts 7-2 to make the final 43-40.
Congratulations Lady Tigers! NB improves to 5-2 on the year while the Flyers fall to 3-5. The Tigers next host the 6-3 Portsmouth Lady Trojans on 12/28, who defeated the SW Jeeps last night 45-44.
