HARVEST PREP (23-1) VS. PLYMOUTH (18-5) DIV Regional Semi
Just got home from watching both games. Plymouth didn't know what hit them from the get go. HP won the game 73-39 with all the starters except one on the bench with 5:00 to go in the 4th quarter. I'm friends with one of the ladies who went to Plymouth high school years ago and she said to me in the bleachers "culture shock" just hit this team when they walked on the floor and she wasn't mistaken. #24 for HP is a zone buster and a three point machine, #32 if a forward (not very big) but takes down a lot of rebounds and gets a lot of junk baskets with her hustle and the other impact player is the big girl in the middle #20. She makes excellent spin moves around the basket for easy points and can shoot either left or right handed on either side of the basket. I think the big thing Saturday night will be which one of the bigs (Sina or the HP girl) get the most and earliest fouls on them and have to sit. This will change the game immensely as both team have scrappy girls and like to trap a lot. One HP fan sitting behind me said he's seen better jr. high teams here in Columbus than Waterford but I guess we'll see here in a couple of days. Good luck H2o ford

That's what Africentric said for three years until last year we almost won. Nobody should underestimate this Waterford team because this team will be fired up and ready to play.

that's the thing I think they picked up some girls from Africentric if I'm not mistaken and being that Grove city schools do not have athletics anymore, Harvest Prep picked up some of those kids. Look my thoughts on this are that Waterford has enough motivation and skill to win this game. 2 years ago Harvest prep boys played Oak Hill in regional semi's and they thought that it was gonna be a blood bath but it wasn't. If I remember right Oak Hill beat the pants off of them. Plymouth got the shock that Waterford fans received 5 years ago with the "culture change" as well as South Webster has the past few years. King and Drayer are a deadly combo which they proved so tonight. They have enough role players around them to make some noise!!!

I only saw the first quater of the game and HP is very good but they are no Africentric. It will be an excellent game on Saturday. The Lady Cats can play with them but they will have to control the ball better than they did tonight (3rd quarter especially). If both King and Brown can have another outstanding game, and Waterford's other girls can chip in, it is a very winnable game for Waterford. Good luck to the Lady Cats and congrats to Plymouth and South Webster on great seasons. Cheer on the Cats as they try to take home a state title for SEO!!!

Personally from what I saw tonight: The numerous times I watched Africentric over the past few years just humiliate the SEO teams they played up here made me sick. This Harvest Prep team to me isn't as good as those past Africentric teams because they lack the emotional leaders and senior leadership that Africentric has now and had in the past. Africentric lost to Middletown Madison last night over in Springfield and I think they still have a great team but I think the move up to DIII was a shock to them also and whereas in past years at this point they could run away and hide from teams because they had such big leads (In DIV) that wasn't they case last night and they didn't turn up the intensity until it was too late and lost by 3 but that is a learning experience for them. With that being said I think this year is a toss-up and should be a very close game unlike years past. Waterford has been here many times before, it's time to buckle down, play smart, keep their heads and they can beat a team that's not been to this level as many times as they have. In a nutshell: THEY ARE DUE

I think the keys for Waterford are to control their turnovers and not get in foul trouble.
