Re: Ironton 43 VS MIDDLETOWN MADISON 50 - FINAL
huh, so Ironton lost because they just weren't hitting their shots and it wasn't their day. hmmmm, I thought that wasn't an excuse that was allowed to be used.
That is a dig at posters and not the Lady Tigers.
Lady Tigers, great year! You exceeded expectations and showed that it doesn't matter your record but if you get hot at the right time and are determined that you can do anything then you just might do anything.
Malott is the real deal for Madison!

But did any Ironton posters belittle, ridicule, or insult Middletown Madison's "worthiness" either pre- or post-game? THEY won! Did we say "the best team lost", or call their win a "fluke"? NO!
Seems to me most posts say THANKS LADY TIGERS in appreciation of their effort and hard work and CONGRATS for their accomplishment, win or lose, without disrespecting their opponent!!!

Malott was a lot Ma-LESS today at the Schott. Liberty Benton dominated them.
I think Madison was a better team than they showed today against Benton, but their shots just didn't fall today.
Yes, leaving Minford, you can have a "cold shooting" day and Madison did today.
Lady Tigers, thanks for a great season. You all were the underdogs who wouldn't quit! Madison's average margin of victory was a bout 40, so you gave them one of the better games they saw all season long!

Great job! No disgrace in losing to one of the best teams in the state.
For the sports history buffs among us...
Ironton HS now has 5 regional championships in basketball, 3 of which belong to the girls.
***(Unofficial - I could be off by a year or two in some cases)***
BOYS district titles: 59, 77, 79, 81, 92, 94, 95, 96, 04, 05, 06, 10
BOYS regional titles: 94, 05
GIRLS district titles: 79, 80, 81, 05, 06, 09, 10
GIRLS regional titles: 80, 05, 10
Considering the fact that the girls went from about 1981 to 2005 without even winning a district title, this is a huge tribute to the recent coaches, administration, and most of all the players themselves.
