Re: Waverly
this is just an opinion, but one of the problems is that waverly does not have a biddy basketball program. Most of the other schools in the league have a biddy ball program for their girls. I know they have ymca leagues in waverly, but it is not the same as the biddy ball leagues that keep girls from the same district playing together. I know the school district that I am from we have biddy ball and the girls play during the spring and summer at mcgraw's or on travel teams.

Re: Waverly
Not only start a biddy ball program, but let the kids press and learn how to play the game of basketball. Get an all-star team or two together and play in some tournaments to see how other schools play. I haven't seen a girls all-star from Waverly in any tournaments for years (maybe ever). This can not be corrected without time in game situations with pressure added. This has to start at a young age or with alot of work as you get older.

Re: Waverly
IMO you need to start early, play a lot, get in a good summer program. The better teams seem to have several girls that play summer ball. Minford, Wheelersburg, SP, Chesapeake, Oak Hill that I have seen play AAU ball. Sure a great advantage as there is little substitute for time on the court. A good biddy ball program is big.

Re: Waverly
Oak Hill is up next for Waverly. The question is-Will it be a 35 to 45 point blow out? Or will it go the way of the Oak Hill v. Valley game Monday night? Which was a "close" 12 point affair, if you want to call that close. It's close for most around here v.Oak Hill. I only bring this to light because Waverly and Valley are close in talent this year.Actually, Waverly should have beaten Valley both times...I'm leaning toward the 40 + point blowout myself...

Re: Waverly
Waverly falls to 2-13 tonight with a loss to Jackson.Quite possibly Waverly's worst game of the year.West is up next Wed. night.
