Man...deficit is surprising. McClain lost at home to Jackson but played very well much of the season and seemed to be rolling.....Burg is obviously drilling a gameplan and players must be executing like crazy.

Burg beat a lot of very good teams early....the win is not a big surprise. Good luck the rest of the way. I predicted this one wrong.

McClain jumped out to a 5-0 lead, but then Wheelersburg took over. It's been a team effort -- no lady Pirate has hit double-digits in scoring yet...

Talking to one of McClain's coaches Saturday they seem pretty sure this a perfect match-up for them. They seemed to think they have a great shot at making it to state. I certainly think being D3 allows them to have a great shot at it. Back to this game, will Wheelersburg handle the pressure better than Southeastern did?

It will all come down to that. Surprised to hear somebody actually thinks Burg is winning. Talked to a lot of the coaches still alive in the D3 that aren't playing in this game and every one of them said McClain big. I'll trust their prediction.

Was not impressed by the poy from McClain! She did absolutely nothing till fourth qtr! Then it was to late!!! Congrats burg!

I was wrong. I thought it would be a close game and go down to the wire. It was a 16 point game at half and 20 at the end of three.

Burg definitely got into McCain's head in the first half. Great game and great atmosphere.

McClain seemed totally surprised the entire first half, had no answer for the Burg defense, like they had never faced that before. They were very frustrated. Had they done the entire game what they did second half of the 3rd quarter and the 4th quarter you have a different ball game.
I'm sure Massie was doing what coach told her to do and they finally figured it out midway through the 3rd after falling behind 34-9. They ended the 3rd strong and had it at 11 a couple times in the 4th.
Massie scoreless in the first half scored 7 in the 3rd (2nd half of 3rd) and poured in 18 in the 4th.

Burg kept the ball out of massies hands for three qtrs. They let her have it in the 4th and she did some damage. If it's close, I think burg would have continued to try to deny her the ball. She's a terrific player.

McClain had no answer for burg zone defense. They had 9 points. Team looking to coach for help but got none. With pressure to keep ball out of hands of Massie McClain had nothing else. Good win for pirates. Congrats on district champs.

I was wrong on my pick also. Massie was very frustrated with the diamond and one and greenfield really struggled against the zone. She took over for them in the second half but got no help. Wheelersburg had a better overall team and stayed composed.

Congrats Lady Pirates. Defense wins championships and yours was strong in this one. McClain was a very good team and Coach Spradlin came up with an excellent game plan that the girls executed perfectly. #14 for Greenfield is definitely a POY. She had 18 points in the 4th quarter!

I don't think the other D3 coaches thought McClain was going to win I think they were hoping McClain would win.
