I'll just leave it as the Jackson girls until someone can post one that is able to be seen. If you sign up you can read it I believe. I get 10 articles a month without subscription but they have to run their business.

All the starters graduate.noreply66 wrote:Looks like Jackson is graduating the whole team this year.
Kacee Jenkins started 10 games that Lydia Poe was out and was the 2nd leading scorer in that time at 11.9 ppg and likely led in rebounds.
In Jackson's 8 SEOAL games Jenkins was tied for 2nd with 89 points scores and averaged 16.2 ppg in her 5 SEOAL starts.
Re: All-SEOAL
I do not know how the basketball coaches handle all-league (stats and play from SEOAL games only or season statistics) In softball most coaches used stats that benefitted their player the most. We (Jackson) only used stats from league games as strength of schedule played a large role in swaying averages and other statistics. With only 8 SEOAL basketball contests they may very well use the whole season.
In SEOAL games
Ridout (16.3 ppg and was simply a stat filler and an excellent POY choice)
Poe (22.2 ppg in her 4 league games....totally dominated Warren and Gallia Academy when she returned.....in only 4 games she tied for 2nd most points and had double digit rebounds per game I'd guess)
Wills (9.6 ppg and a very efficient scorer, every game with 9-12 points and hit big 3 after big 3...had a great season)
Hoover (5 ppg, a good rebounding guard and just flat out took care of the ball only averaging 1 turnover per game...very valuable)
Speakman (3 ppg in 7 games, hit several 3's and had several assists)
That's a lot lost to graduation for sure.

Re: All-SEOAL
As in most (public) HS athletics, programs have down yrs. to reset or transition; Jackson fans have been rewarded for multiple seasons with that group of ladies, im sure IO2 or someone has all the #'s on their successes as a team throughout their tenure there; my question is what does the future of the SEOAL itself look like? Recent losses of teams like Chilli and Marietta have left it with 5 teams equaling a meager 8-game league schedule for members, as pointed out earlier; although it (SEOAL) has enjoyed success recently, it feels like the league itself is slowly grinding to a halt if for nothing more than #'s ...curious on thoughts, expansion or no? Or maybe i'm off my rocker on this one, which is totally plausible, lol

To put it simply the league is done! The oldest non city league in OHio is about to die. I only hope that Warren does not panic and jump on a TVC offer, as we are better than that in all sports but football, and we are simply a quality hire away from being competitive there!

Re: All-SEOAL
i agree noreply, then the next question is where do these teams look eventually? It seems logical for most SEOAL teams to transition into the SCOL, etc. if for nothing more than geographics and travel, but that leaves Warren odd man out, could they follow Marietta into the ECOL maybe?
Re: All-SEOAL
I can almost guarantee the SCOL won't vote to include the SEOAL teams, that is too far to travel for away games. part of the reason Chillicothe got out of there was to have fewer miles for away games. plus with Wilmington coming in next year, the SCOL is the perfect size with everybody being a reasonable distance apart.BannersnRafters wrote:i agree noreply, then the next question is where do these teams look eventually? I'm guessing Athens also beat Warren in Tennis, Golf, Boys Soccer, Wrestling and swimming. Couldn't find scores but know Athens was unbeaten in seoal play for tennis
But everyone only remembers warren beat Athens 83-61 in boys basketball. Can't win them all
TVC girls basketball is pretty good
Re: All-SEOAL
Athens had a good year or a couple....if Warren goes in over the next 10 year they will win 80% of everything and if Jackson and Gallipolis goes too those three just might win 100% 6 years out of 10 and 90% 10 out of 10RAIDER6309 wrote:Volleyball: Athens won 3-0noreply66 wrote:The all around sports program at Warren is far too good for the TVC

TVC girls basketball is better than the Seoal right now. Vinton and Nelsonville gave Athens good games

Re: All-SEOAL
You Athens people must be high on drugs! Warren is the better school, and better athletic programs. They are the reason Athens left the league to begin with! Everyone knows Athens couldn't compete in the big 3, but when Warren cleaned their clocks in the Olympic sports, those rich spoiled University types couldn't handle it.

Re: All-SEOAL
Apples and Oranges. TVC mostly D3 and D4 with s couple of D2 schools. SEOAL mostly d2.RAIDER6309 wrote:Noreply
Seoal 1 district team
Tvc 4 district teams and 2 regional teams
The staters set it up for an easier ride into regionals and districts. How many D3 teams move to the regionals from SEO. I know in D4 two moved on. D2 get one. D1 goes to another part of the state.
So of course you have more move on, not rocket science.
Yet the TVC members don't want the SEOAL teams in their league???

So much for that theory, looks like the writing's on the wall and all the arguing is pointless now......
