LadyHoopsFan: Portsmouth returns virtually everyone from last year's OVC co-champs and D3 Final 4 team. Leading the way is SR Daysha Reid, who has committed to Georgetown College (KY) and who is a 1,000 point scorer. JR Sienna Allen has had some D1 looks and will become the next 1,000 point scorer in PHS girls basketball history. The 6-1 Allen is a smooth operator on the court, with the ability to drive to the bucket and knock down the 3.

Portsmouth is not a 2 player team, but these two will lead the Trojans to another great season with an excellent chance to win the OVC and repeat to the Final 4. One other player of note is 6-0 SO Hayven Carter, who is a banger on the boards and has a nice outside jumper.

TrojanDave, you are right but KeKe and Salem plus the big 6-3 Cantrell girl, plus the Shannon girl and KK and her sister, KK is very tough ,good player and the sisters on team are very good also. 2sets of sisters both sets are very good players( Allens, Mays) all studs also! Have to be able to hit the outside shots on consistent basis. Lots of open 3 point looks need to be drained regularly! Shoot Shoot and Shoot some more This team is loaded for bear from top to bottom, but hitting the open shots are a must on a regular consistent basis every nite. Run and Shoot with confidence and accuracy! I think every player on the varsity this year would be a starter anywhere else, they are that good!

PrimeTime: Thanks for including the players I didn't mention, but it wasn't my objective to go over the whole roster. The topic is watchlist so I just made mention of who I thought would lead the way for the Lady Trojans.

These girls have been playing together for a long time they play great together and not a selfish one on the team and yes loaded with talent .
Add to that with "one of the "best coaching staff you will see in girls basketball lead by Amy Hughes .

With all that said ,you still have to play the game,no ones going to just roll over for you and I'm sure after going to the final four last year you will get everyone best shot

Coach needs to coach and not cry. Her behavior in the final four should have been embarrassing to the whole portsmouth community

The players didn’t freak out when the fouls were not even but the coach stopped coaching and just complained instead. They’ll never win a championship until she matures even with all of there talent
