So far today, bishop Hartley defeated Johnstown Monroe and Warren defeated John Glenn. Both were really close, good games. Still 5 more games on tap for today.

Unioto’s gotta figure out how to deal with size inside. Wagner was pretty much shooting til she scored the whole 1st and 4th quarters.

Good game overall, first competitive game that Unioto has even played in this year, so even in a loss it’s a good thing.

Probably better than last year at the end of the year if they stay healthy. I don’t think it has helped that it’s the worst the SVC has ever been as far as quality of teams. They just beat the 2nd best team by 39 last night for instance.

Hamilton is playing and is clearly getting better each game as she comes back from her second ACL tear. The Beard girl (freshman) is working back from an injury and not 100% either.

Also, pretty much only four options to ever score, which good coaches can expose. They tried to get the 5th option looks tonight and it was a struggle, but she’s only a freshman so that should improve over time.

Smith is outstanding, averaging over 30ppg and over 40% from 3, but they need a consistent 3rd scorer to go with her and Hamilton.

Unioto is good and will be better as the season moves along. I think Beard and Dennis are going to be good. Beard can score and has played a lot of basketball. Smith is great, Holbert is solid and Hamilton will continue to get better as her knee feels better. And they have some kids off the bench that can help. I couldn't finish watching the game and Waterford was up a couple with about 2 minutes to go so I am not sure what happened at the end. Also, I was a little surprised they didn't try playing the Walker girl and the Dennis girl together to work on Wagner.

I watched the earlier games and Big Walnut looked good. The move to seven divisions will help them since they are now DII. Canal will still be there but they are going to be a tough out. Wish their schedule was better - not sure they have a loss on the schedule to be honest.

On the other end of things, Sheridan looked bad. This is the only time I have seen them (didn't start watching until late in the first quarter) and it could be they were hung over with a noon game after a tough loss the night before but they were off their game. They need to get better quick. In Division III, we only get one out of the District Semi-Finals to play the East for the District Championship. I think Unioto and Marietta are ahead of them right now.
