State Semi-Finals: Portsmouth Vs. Fairland @ The Convo

I really like Portsmouth's chances for a state title this year. The quickness and smothering defense of Portsmouth will likely be too much for Fairland to handle yet again. Glad to see this game will be at the convo, I will be in the stands rooting for a Dragon upset.

What Portsmouth and Fairland have done in the tournament speaks highly of the OVC. Back to back Final 4's by both schools. Glad to see it's at the Convo, which is the mecca of SE basketball. Hoping the Lady Trojans can play their best, because that's what it will take to beat the Lady Dragons. I expect a huge crowd for this one.

No shot at the Lady Trojans, but I actually feel like they haven’t played their best basketball of late. Obviously Tusky Valley & Minford are good teams, but even going back to the Piketon game I felt Portsmouth didn’t look as crisp as they did during the regular season. Fairland is much better than all of those teams. If they get down early to the Dragons they may not be able to get back on top like in these past games.

I think Portsmouth is the better team, but Fairland is pretty darn good too. It’s hard to beat a team as good as Fairland 3 times in a single season. Agree with the posters above, Portsmouth will need to get out to an early lead and not get behind in this one. You know the Dragons will come out firing from 3. The defense for Portsmouth will test Fairland again. I think this will be a single digit win for whoever does win, hoping it’s the lady Trojans though.

The atmosphere will be great for this one. I have to hand it to Amy as she has done a great job with this group. I thought this rematch would come and I have to go with Portsmouth. But it will not surprise me if Jon brings in a stellar game plan and those girls knock off the Trojans. If I am correct, both are seeking their first win in the final four. Please correct me if I am wrong. Either way, SEO gets a rep to the championship and I like their chances from there. Best of luck to both teams and best of luck to both communities who hopefully put on a great show at the CONVO and prove that girls basketball can be a draw as well.

Give me the Portsmouth Trojans by 3 in this game. Look for this to be a good game but just think Portsmouth has the better depth. With that being said I do think that it is very possible for the Lady Dragons to pull out the win because of how good they are and that they have made it to the Final Four. Good luck to both teams and way to represent the OVC. I look for the crowd to be great at this game and happy it got moved to the Convo.

It’s going to be tough for Fairland to beat a Portsmouth team that’s not selfish and playing together with a smothering defense is hard to beat!! That’s why they’re 25-1 playing in the final 4. It’s great to see 2 OVC teams playing in final 4. I wish they could have met in the state finals! Again WOW having 2 of last 4 teams from same conference playing in Final 4.

The Ovc had been well represented in the girls final four over the last 10 years. Fairland has 5 trips, Portsmouth 2, Ironton 1.
I believe the winner of this game will be the favorite in the finals. Going to be a great atmosphere!

I’m taking Portsmouth they have the better roster IMO, but I’m not saying Fairland isn’t good. Portsmouth is probably going to get themselves a state title this year. I’m really proud of all the SEO teams and congrats to both of these teams. I’m going to get a chance to watch this game due to our game being moved to the Convo so I hope to watch some more great tournament basketball and good luck to both these teams.

Will this game be live streamed ?
