Final score: Wellston 37, Portsmouth 36.

Wellston will play top-seeded Wheelersburg on Saturday in sectional final at Rock Hill.

Congrats to the Lady Indians of Peebles and coach Frankie Stephens on their win over Northwest. They will now play the #1 seed Huntington on Saturday.

Peebles played Huntington tough early in the year! Huntington only had two players score the entire night, but have recently got their #3 scorer back from injury. Should be an interesting game no matter what!

Wackiness at Alexander HS last night:

New Lex was leading Vinton County by a point with about 3 1/2 minutes in the 3rd quarter when the power went out!

That game will be resumed at 5:00 this evening, followed by the two regularly scheduled games--Sheridan vs. Jackson and Marietta vs. Fairfield Union.

The Warren-Meigs game will be played tonight at 7:00 at Eastern HS.
