District 13 All-Star Game
When is the game at the University of Rio Grande? I thought the game was Monday March 10 but saw last night that it was Tuesday March 11. Which date is the game?
Re: District 13 All-Star Game

Re: District 13 All-Star Game
All I actually saw was the AP for the Southeast District but would have to believe it is a copy of that. Not sure though?

Re: District 13 All-Star Game
Are there any girls from river valley in the game? Someone said the coach didn't even go to the district meeting where the players are put up for all district!! If that is true that is unexcusable after they put up with what they had to this year!!

Re: District 13 All-Star Game
i did not see any river valley players in the game
did they have any seniors make the all district team?
did they have any seniors make the all district team?
Re: District 13 All-Star Game
The reason that no player from River Valley was on the all-district team is because the coach didn't attend the 'mandatory' meeting required to put up players for all-district!! There were 4 seniors on the team. It wasn't fair to those girls!!

Re: District 13 All-Star Game
That pretty well answers the question if membership dues were paid!! The head coach would have received aletter stating the time and place of the district meeting. It is than her responsibility to attend or have her representative atend so that these girls have the honor to play in the game!! If the boys belong to the association than likewise the girls would or there could be a discrimination suit filed!!

Not really. I have seen schools where the boys coaches joined the assoication and the girls coaches did not in the past(Marietta). If the coach did not join then there are no players. If the coach joined then he had to be there to nominate players.

Do the coaches or school pay the dues? It seems to me if the school does, than they must have paid for both!! If the coach had to pay maybe I can see the point. Still, doesn;t it bother you that we coach for the kids and you would think that she would want the kids to get the recognition they deserve!! After all it takes a special kind of individual to play 4 years ,practicing every night and sacrificing a lot just to play!!

Re: District 13 All-Star Game
Each school in the district is allowed a maximum of 8 voting memberships. Anything above 8 is a non voting member. The OVC pays for 8 memberships for each conference school. As someone else stated many schools will pay these dues for its coaching staffs if not then it is up to the coaches to pay their own way. Because of that you will see some schools with only 1 membership, some might have 2-3. Some schools might have 8 boys and only 4 girls or vice versa. For players to receive recognition coaches must belong to both District and State Associations.
The District Coaches Associations covers much smaller geographic area the the AP Districts. Therefore you might see some players on this team and not the other.
I think Coaches Districts 13 and 14 are combined to form the AP Southeast District.
