When do you start counting "career points"
When do you start counting "career points"
I'll have a seventh grade baller next year so, when do you start accumulating your "career points"? Is that from seventh up, or just high school?

They start counting in the driveway - the first time the little nerf ball goes thru the little tikes hoop.

LOVE the nerf comment!!! We just found a photo of our daughter at about 2yrs shooting in the nerf hoop in the kitchen of our old home! I told her this is the photo that will go in the Senior Yearbook for sure!! I guess some ladies are born to play!
Thanks for the clarification on the career points!

Even the great O.J. Mayo's points did not count in junior high. It starts when you are a FRESHMEN in high school.

Re: When do you start counting "career points"
Still remember the story from back a few years when a player's family got upset with a coach because the coach/school had failed to recognize the player's accomplishment of accumulating 1000 points. The family had been adding them up all the way up through school and when this player was a senior they only needed a few to reach that plateau that particular game.
The entire extended family was there to watch the game that night waiting for "little Johnny" to hit that basket. After the game the family came down after the coach because they weren't aware of the situation of their child's accomplishment. When the coach explained to the parents that their child only had around 400 points scored at the varsity level they were a little confused. Of course their only reply was that all points scored in high school (Freshmen, JV, and Varsity) should count toward 1000 points and they would take it up with the Administration. That was the last the coach ever heard from them!!
